イナバウアーは、旧西ドイツの女子スケート選手であるイナ・バウアー（Ina Bauer）の名前に由来しています。1941年生まれで、ドイツチャンピオンに3回輝き、ヨーロッパ選手権でも活躍しました。
イナバウアーは、フィギュアスケートの滑走法の1つで、片足の膝を曲げて前に、もう一方の足を後ろに引いて伸ばして開き、エッジを180度開いて横に滑る技です。
