Raiders: DT Christian Wilkinsと4年契約に合意の見込み
現地3月11日、NFL NetworkのIan Rapoport (@RapSheet)が、情報筋の話としてSNS上で伝えたところによれば、RaidersとDT Christian Wilkinsが、4年$110M、うち保証$84.75Mの契約に合意の見込みだという。
これについて、The AthleticのTashan Reed (@tashanreed) は、SNS上で、DC Patrick Graham、DLコーチ Rob Leonardが、DolpfinsでWilkinsと関係を築いており、これが獲得に寄与したとの趣旨のコメントをした。
同様に、PFFのBrad Spielberger (@PFF_Brad)は、SNS上で「Raidersは理にかなっている」とし、「Raiders DCのPatrick Grahamが、Wilkinsがドラフトされた2019年にDolpfinsのDCだった」と説明した。
また、Spielbergerは、RaidersがIDLで大幅な補強を必要としていたことを指摘するとともに、IDLの市場が堅調との見方を示した。
The AthleticのVic Tafur (@VicTafur) は、SNS上でRaidersがDTのニーズに対して大きな取り組みをしたとコメントした上で、Chris JonesがChiefsと再契約したために、RaidersのターゲットリストのトップがWilkinsになっていたと指摘した。
The AthleticのTed Nguyen (@FB_FilmAnalysis)はSNS上でRaidersの補強姿勢について「再建でなく勝ちに行くと言っており、Wilkinsとの契約はこれを裏付ける」とし、「本当にQBの獲得に積極的になる必要がある」と指摘した。
また、同日、NguyenはSNS上での質問に答えるかたちで、ドラフトでのQB指名について「来年のクラスはそれほど魅力的ではないよう」とし、「言い換えれば、レイダースは今年、チップを投入するはず」との見方を示した。
