The Witch and the Werewolf's Elopement
It was Halloween night, and the full moon hung high in the sky, casting an eerie glow over the village.
ハロウィンの夜、満月が空高く輝き、村に不気味な光を落としていた。
In the shadows of the forest, a witch named Selene waited anxiously.
森の陰で、魔女のセレーネが不安そうに待っていた。
"Where is he?" she muttered, pacing nervously.
「彼はどこにいるの？」と彼女は呟き、落ち着かない様子で歩き回っていた。
Suddenly, a low growl echoed from the trees, and a figure emerged from the darkness.
突然、木々の間から低い唸り声が響き、暗闇の中から一つの影が現れた。
"Sorry I’m late," said Liam, the werewolf, his voice deep and gravelly. "The pack wouldn’t let me go easily."
「遅れてごめん」と狼男のリアムが低くしゃがれた声で言った。「群れが簡単に僕を離してくれなかったんだ。」
Selene smiled, relieved to see him. "I thought you’d changed your mind."
セレーネは彼を見てほっとして微笑んだ。「心変わりしたのかと思ったわ。」
"Never," Liam replied, stepping closer. "I’d rather face the whole pack than live without you."
「絶対にないさ」とリアムは一歩近づいて答えた。「君なしで生きるくらいなら、群れ全員と戦うほうがマシだよ。」
The two stood in silence for a moment, the forest around them alive with the sounds of the night.
二人はしばし沈黙し、周囲の森が夜の音で満ちていた。
"Are you sure about this?" Selene whispered. "We’ll have to leave everything behind."
「本当にこれでいいの？」とセレーネは囁いた。「私たち、全てを置いていかなきゃならないわ。」
Liam nodded. "I’ve never been more sure of anything. It’s you and me, Selene. Against the world, if we have to."
リアムは頷いた。「これ以上確信したことはないよ。君と僕だ、セレーネ。必要なら世界を敵に回しても。」
Selene hesitated for a moment, then took a deep breath. "Alright. Let’s go before anyone notices we’re gone."
セレーネは一瞬ためらったが、深呼吸をした。「分かったわ。誰かに気づかれる前に行きましょう。」
The two turned and started walking deeper into the forest, their footsteps muffled by the fallen leaves.
二人は森の奥へと歩き出し、足音は落ち葉によってかすかにしか聞こえなかった。
As they walked, Selene glanced up at Liam. "Do you think we’ll be safe?"
歩きながら、セレーネはリアムを見上げた。「私たち、無事でいられると思う？」
Liam gave her a confident smile. "With my strength and your magic? We’ll be unstoppable."
リアムは自信に満ちた笑みを浮かべた。「僕の力と君の魔法があれば、誰も僕たちを止められないさ。」
Selene laughed softly. "I suppose you're right. But it’s not going to be easy."
セレーネは小さく笑った。「そうね、確かに。でも、簡単ではないわ。」
"Nothing worth having ever is," Liam replied, squeezing her hand.
「価値あるものは、いつだって簡単には手に入らないさ」とリアムは彼女の手を握り返した。
Just as they were about to cross a stream, a howl echoed through the forest, sending shivers down their spines.
二人が小川を渡ろうとした時、森の中に遠吠えが響き、背筋に寒気が走った。
"They’re coming," Selene said, her voice barely above a whisper.
「彼らが来るわ」とセレーネは囁くように言った。
Liam growled softly. "Let them come. I’m not afraid."
リアムは低く唸った。「来ればいいさ。怖くはない。」
Selene nodded, her eyes glowing with determination. "Neither am I."
セレーネは頷き、決意を込めた目を輝かせた。「私も怖くないわ。」
Together, they faced the direction of the howls, ready to defend their love.
二人は遠吠えの方に向かい、愛を守るために立ち向かう準備をした。
"We’ll make it," Liam said softly. "As long as we’re together."
「僕たちなら乗り越えられる」とリアムは静かに言った。「一緒にいれば。」
Selene smiled, her heart steady despite the danger. "Together, always."
セレーネは微笑み、危険にもかかわらず心は穏やかだった。「いつまでも一緒に。」
And with that, the witch and the werewolf disappeared into the night, leaving behind the world that tried to keep them apart.
