【Switzerland】A 7-day Adventure in Zermatt and Grindelwald
The Swiss Alps are renowned for their breathtaking landscapes, and there's no better way to immerse yourself in their beauty than by hiking. Here is the 7-day itinerary to make the most of hiking experience in Zermatt and Grindelwald regions.
Day 1 @Zurich
Arrival in Zurich. I started my journey to Zermatt by Swiss trains with Half Fare Travelcard.
Day 2 - 3 @Zermatt
My journey began in the picturesque town of Zermatt, nestled at the foot of the iconic Matterhorn. I spent my days hiking through scenic trails, marveling at the breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and lush valleys.
The Gornergrat Railway offered a spectacular ride to one of the best viewpoints in the Alps. Evenings were spent exploring the charming village and savoring Swiss cuisine.
Day 4 - 6 @Grindelwald
Next, I headed to Grindelwald, a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. I took the Jungfraujoch railway to the “Top of Europe,” where we experienced the awe-inspiring Aletsch Glacier.
The Eiger Trail provided an exhilarating hike with stunning vistas of the Eiger North Face.
My trip concluded with a serene boat ride on Lake Brienz, surrounded by the serene beauty of the Swiss countryside.
Berner Oberland Pass covered a number of transportations and activities in Grindelwald and Interlaken.
Day 7 @Zurich
Renown for its perfect blend of urban life and nature, Zurich had always been on my bucket list.
