今回は「You're looking for trouble.　と　You're looking for a trouble.に違いはあるか？」について見て行きましょう。

基本「You're looking for a trouble.」と書きたいのですが、どうも「You're looking for trouble.」でも意味は同じでした～

というのは

"Trouble" は可算名詞なので、単数形でも複数形でも意味は同じなのでした。

「a trouble」は、"ある特定のトラブル" という意味になります。例えば、"You're looking for a fight." は、"あなたは喧嘩を探している" という意味になります。

一方、「trouble」は、"トラブル全般" という意味になります。例えば、"You're looking for trouble." は、"あなたはトラブルを探している" という意味になります。

I like cats.

と

I like a cat.

の違いみたいなものですかね～

私は猫が好き　＝　I like cat.

私は（ある）猫が好き　I Like a cat.
