💬 Design Term：デザイナーが使える英語表現－ユーザビリティ・テストのファシリテーション

「ユーザビリティ」とは、プロダクトの利便性のことを指します。

ユーザビリティが良いプロダクトであれば、ユーザーは目的を少ない労力で物事を実行することができます。逆にユーザビリティが悪いプロダクトの場合、ユーザーは目的をなかなか達することができず、そのプロダクトから離脱しやすくなってしまいます。

ユーザービリティの改善について考える際、忘れてはならないことがあります。それは、「誰のためにプロダクトを作るのか？」ということです。

プロダクトを使用する全員のユーザビリティを良くすることは不可能です。ターゲット・オーディエンスを明確にして、そのプロダクトがターゲット層にとって使いやすくあることを目指します。

特に、新しいプロダクトをリリースするときや、イテレーションでは、ユーザービリティ調査が大きな役割を果たします。ユーザビリティをしっかりテストすることは費用、また時間削減を助けます。 

今回は、ユーザビリティテストでテスターとのやりとりと使える英語の表現をご紹介したいと思います。今回は以前ご紹介した記事を改善いたしました。

1. ユーザビリティ・テストを始める前のチェックリスト

テストセッションの前に役立つチェックリストを次に示します。
こちらのチェックリストをユーザビリティ・テストの数日前にチェックしましょう。

□ Email reminder to observers one or two days before

1〜2日前にオブザーバーにリマインダーをメールで送信してください。

□ Make sure the correct environment of FitBox is loaded on the test computer, accessible via the Internet and is working as intended

* FitBoxが正しい環境がテストコンピュータにロードされ、インターネット経由でアクセス可能であり、意図したとおりに機能していることを確認してください。

□ Make sure you have all the necessary credentials & user accounts for the various scenarios you are going to test

2. テスターに最初に伝えたいこと、また質問のヒント

→ Feel free to make small talks, make sure the member is calm and relaxed.

→ Try to minimise interruptions, fade into the background as much as possible, but probe if you see areas of potential insight

6. ユーザビリティ・テストの開始

Imagine you have been notified by FitBox newsletter that the new digital platform is now online. You jump on here with little knowledge beyond what you just read from the FitBox newsletter.
FitBoxのニュースレターから、新しいデジタル・プラット・フォームが使用可能になったことを通知されたとします。FitBoxのニュースレターから読んだもの以外の知識はほとんどなく、そこにジャンプします。

You’re going to be looking at the application.

まとめ

ユーザビリティ・テストで通しで使える英語表現をご紹介しました。
もともとあがり症の私が初めてユーザビリティ・テストをした時はとても緊張をしましたが、プレゼント同様で、一度プレゼン・テンプレートのようなものを一度作って、改善をしながらそれに沿って何回もプレゼンをしているうちに、だいぶ落ち着いてユーザーインタビューができるようになってきました。

一度、ユーザビリティ・テストの内容、構成を制作したら、原稿を用意し、何回も練習して事前準備をしっかりすることをお勧めします。私の場合は質問を一通り何回も読み直して、何回かオーディオ・レコーダーに録音します。また、それを聞き直しながら発音などを修正する作業をおこないます。

ユーザビリティ・テストをする時は、是非しっかり準備して臨んで下さい。ユーザビリティ・テストは、ミーティングなどと比較すると、双方向性の割合が少ないので、準備段階での努力が成功に繋がるスキルです。
