前回のwreak havoc on 「ーに大きな混乱をもたらす」ですが、語句の説明に次の捕捉がありました。
And it's wreak not wreck havoc.
Even native speakers often get out wrong because wreck means break or ruin something, so it sounds right even if it isn't.
Werakはwreckではないけど、ネイティブでも勘違いすることがある。wreckとは「大破」の意味で、wreck havoc onでも、正しく聞こえる。
「耳ざわりの良い」というのに、耳障り、「障る」という漢字をあててしまう感覚でしょうか。
Stand out from the crowd 際立つ、抜きん出る
If we stand out from the crowd, we have something to make us different, more noticeable other than around us.
Carry 店がある商品を置いている
In this case, carry means, offer as a part of liner of products. It is not talking about whether something is in stock at a moment. If I say this store doesn't carry my favorite brand, that means they never have it.
Discard 捨てられたもの。廃棄されたもの。
In this vignette, discard is a naun meaning something thrown away. And it's specially something that we don't want or can't use.
Cater to ーの要求を満たす
Cater to means accommodate someone's particular need or desires.
Provide what they want, they need.
Durable 長持ちする
Something durable will last. It holds up to be used and isn't easily damaged or worn out.
Fleeting 儚い、束の間の
Something fleeting doesn't last long.
It exists for a short while.
Raw materials 原材料
Row materials are basic components used make something else.
We also use it to mean a person or thing that can be developed into something better, something more value.
Mindful 気を配った、注意深い
If I am mindful for something, we are wary. We keep in mind when we are making decisions or talking actions.
Standardization 標準化、規格化
Standardization is making things conform with a certain standard or a certain specification.
It makes sure that things with a certain group are consistently with each other.
Stand for ーを支持する
In this case, stand for means support a certain principals, advocates a certain way of thinking.
In bulk 大量に
In bulk means a lot of things, in large quantity. It's often used aboup buying or making things in large amount.
Get away from から逸れる
In this case, get away from means get off a certain subject. Move away from a certain something that is being talking about.
