アフリカでは、2018年に2,450万人が、新たに結核を発症しました。アフリカでの新規発症者は、世界の感染者の24パーセントを占めています。主な感染源は、空気感染、飛沫核感染ですが、思わぬ落とし穴もあります。

牛乳と結核の意外な関係性/Surprising relationship between milk and tuberculosis
割合は少ないですが、ウシ型結核菌も感染源の一つ。
感染した牛のミルクを低温殺菌せずに飲むことで、結核が人間に感染することがあります。63℃で30分間加熱殺菌することで、結核を死滅させることができますが、企業に頼らず酪農を行っている独立農家にとっては、低温殺菌機は値段が高く手が届きにくいのも現状です。

特徴/Feature
Batch Pasteuriserのバッチ式低温殺菌機には、150リットル、300リットル、500リットルの３つの種類があり、どれも小型です。12か月で分割払いも可能なため、経済的な問題を持つ農家さんにも負担になりにくいです。電力の供給はアフリカの課題の一つですが、バッチ式低温殺菌機は二重ジャケット設計のため、エネルギー消費を削減し、電力供給と電力コストに配慮した設計になっています。
Batch Pasteuriser batch pasteurizers come in three varieties: 150-liter, 300-liter, and 500-liter, all of which are compact; they can be paid in installments over 12 months, making them less of a burden for farmers with financial problems.

The widespread use of milk pasteurisers has contributed to the eradication of TB.
安全を当たり前に/Safety for all
日本では、安全な牛乳が入手できることが当たり前となっていますが、発展途上国や経済的な貧困に苦しんでいる国の農家にとっては、低温殺菌機の購入は困難になっていますBatch Pasteuriserの製品だけではなく、低価格で質の良い製品を各農家に普及させることで、アフリカの結核問題が少しでも改善されることを願います。
In Japan, the availability of safe milk is taken for granted, but for farmers in developing countries and countries suffering from economic poverty, it has become difficult to purchase pasteurizers. We hope that the problem of TB in Africa will be improved by making not only Batch Pasteuriser's products but also other low-cost, high-quality products available to farmers.
