Who was the artist I listen to the most?
We only have one month left until the end of 2024. The ranking that shows ‘Who the artist I listened to the most’ was released by Apple Music. So, I’m going to share my 2024 ranking.
2024年も残りわずかになって、毎年恒例のAppleMusicのReplayが見れる様になった。
そこで今年一番聴いたアーティストは誰だったのかシェアしていきたいと思う。
KingGnu
According to my ranking, the artist I listened to the most was King Gnu. I actually knew it. Cuz I listened to thier music every single moment-like when I head to school, work out, cook, etc...
Apparently, I listened to the most was the album”THE GREATEST UNKNOWN” which was released last year. They released its concert version this Oct.
ランキングによると今年1番聴いたアーティストはKing Gnuだった様だ。実際のところランキングを見るまでもなく知っていた。
ジムで運動してる時、学校行く時、料理してる時。King Gnuは日常に溶け込んでいた。
更に一番聴いた曲も一番聴いたアルバムもKing Gnuだった。
The reason I like this album is the conection between tracks. This album reworks songs that were released before and add conecting tracks. So you can enjoy how they rework previous songs have been reworked.
今年最も聴いたアルバムはTHE GREATEST UNKNOWNだった様だ。このアルバムは昨年の10月にリリースされそこからほぼ毎月欠かさず聴いてる。それは1番になるよなという感じである。
このアルバムの魅力はシームレスな曲の繋ぎとリワークされた楽曲たちである。
SUNNY SIDE UP/雨燦々(Amesansan)
In this album, songs that I like the most are “sunny side up” and “雨燦々”. I’ve liked 雨燦々for a long time.
The japanese summer, technically the time of youth always comes to mind when I listen to it. The reason I feel this sence of youth is I guess I’m infuluenced by music video, cuz its theme comes from japanese high school summer.
このアルバムの中でもとりわけ好きな楽曲はSUNNY SIDE UPからの雨燦々である。
雨燦々は2023年のオールドルーキーと言う綾野剛主演のドラマのタイアップソングである。
僕はそもそもリリースされた直後からこの楽曲の虜だった。それまでのKing Gnuでは雨燦々の様な爽やかさ全開の曲というのはあまり見受けられなかった。彼らの持つオルタナティブで先鋭的なサウンドで構成された曲が多く、この楽曲がリリースされた時は驚いた。
燦々とはあざやかで美しいさま。きらきらと輝いて美しいさまという意味らしい。
その意味通りこの曲の中での特にパリパリのギターのサウンドが、夏の夕立の後降り注ぐ太陽の暑さと眩さを感じることができる。そのサウンドが曲全体に調和し、どこかノスタルジックな雰囲気を作り出している様な気がする。
ギターの聴き心地たるや、、、
ドラムの独特な間の取り方、上下するベースラインがどこか他のアーティストとは違う何かを作り出してるが井口のヘッドボイスの透明感と地声の泥臭い雰囲気のボーカルが全体を柔らかくPopな印象にまとめ上げてるのは流石としか言いようがない
Although they play complicated drums pattern, bass lines, chorde, It still sounds like pop music. Especially the drum patterns create an exciting and dynamic deep effect. I can’t explain why because I’m not an expert in music, but their sound is totally different from other artists.
As I said before, I like the connection between tracks, and I especially like the connection between these tracks. ‘Sunny Side Up’ is actually not a typical song; it’s almost an instrumental. It starts with a children’s choir and gradually introduces other instruments such as violin, bass, and guitar. This assortment if instroments gave us nostalgic feeling.
先ほども書いた様にこの2曲は繋がりが素晴らしいと思った。
SUNNY SIDE UPでは雨の音と共に子供のコーラスと井口のファルセット、オルガンから始まり、そこにバイオリンが加わる事によって雨燦々冒頭のラインクリシェ(だったかな)が際立ち高揚感が演出されている。
クリシェに合わせて少しずつ画面左のボリュームボタンを上げていくと、さながら自分が主人公になったかの様な錯覚に陥る気持ちよさがある。
SPESCIALZ
I remember being extremlly surprised when I first listened to this song.
Their atraction is the wide range of thier sound expression.
“SPECIALZ” featured sound like whistle at the begining which gives it creepy yet powerful vibe. Unbelievably, they used 135 different types of sounds in a single song. I can feel their dedication to pursuing perfection.
On the other hands, they’ve also created songs like 三文小説(sanmonsyousetsu),カメレオン (chameleon), which have a very clam,elegant, and nostalgic sound.
Before releasing “SPECIALZ,” they released “Stardom.” This song has a sporty and passionate sound, which is totally different from “SPECIALZ.”
In the fact they’ve been creating advanced yet pop soud.
この曲を初めて聴いた時の衝撃は忘れられない。正直King Gnuでこの方向性の楽曲はもうで切ったと思っていた。Slumberlandとかそういう感じ。
しかし、SPECIALZは更に不気味でパワフルななサウンドはSlumberlandとは違ったエネルギーを感じる。King Gnuの魅力の一つは楽曲のレンジの広さだと思う。
SPECIALZやSlumberlandのやうな不気味な雰囲気が漂う曲から三文小説やカメレオンのような切なさ全開バラード、BOYや teenager foreverの様なハッスルした曲まで多種多様なジャンルの曲がある。
シンセサイザーを使ったベースは不気味な雰囲気を、サンプリングを使ったドラムは単純なパターンながら個性的な音で曲全体の雰囲気を支配している。

When I talk about my music history, he is essential an person. In fact he has been essential throughout my entire life.
I’ve been influenced by him a lot of things, -not only in music but also in sence of word, mind set ect.
I like his sence of word in his lyrics.
自分の好きな音楽を語る上で星野源は欠かせない存在だ。事実、音楽だけでなく言葉選びや、マインドセットなど彼の全ての活動が自分に大きな影響を与えることは間違いない。
Popvirus
This song is ranked in my music ranking every years. This song is master pice of my life. Cuz I like his sence of word in his lyrics.
“A disease where sound comes out of one's mouth”
When I listened to this lyric, I was deeply impressed. He discribed “sing a song”as “ A disease where sound comes out of one's mouth” . I litrally like this poetic expression of his.
And absolutely, the reason I like this song is not only the lyrics but also the sound. This song was released in 2018, and at that time, J-pop hadn’t yet had this advanced sound. Even now, the sound of this song is still ahead of its time.The occasional glimpses of playfulness such as the sound of broken vase, are irresistible.
Pop Virusは好きな音楽を10個上げてくれと言われたら絶対に入れるくらい好きな曲だ。
2018年にリリースされたPop Virusは自分の中で最初はたくさんの中の1曲だった。音楽に興味を自分で発掘する様になったのが2020年くらいからで色々な曲に触れてきて改めて、Pop Virusの良さに気づいた。
Pop Virusが口で歌われ人の心に届き、そのVirusが感染して広がっていく。音楽がウイルスである。と。
Virusって単体で増殖できないらしいんですよ。(調べた笑)
自分が広めたVirus(音楽)がいろんな人に感染していろんな形で広がっていく細野晴臣やマイケルジャクソンなどのアーティストからVirusを受け取った自分もその1人であるという何とも洒落が効いていて本当にかっこいい。
口から音が出る病気
始まりは炎や棒切れではなく音楽だった
歌うことを口から音が出る病気、と表現するのも素敵だし、人間の始まりは料理や明かりに使う炎でも武器や道具として便利な棒でもなくて言葉がわからなくても音楽にリズムの波に乗っていれば自然と繋がりを感じられる音楽だった。Virusの様に他の個体に伝染して広がっていく音楽だったと言い切っちゃうところもいい。
実際に星野源からSuperorganismとかPUNPEEとかTom Mischとかラジオとかテレビで紹介してた曲とか新しく知れたし。しっかり感染してる。
これ以上書くととんでもない長さになりそうなので星野源についてまた別途noteを書こうと思う。
光の跡(why)
Recently, I often listen to is “why”. This song is ending theme of spy familly.
Actually, I hadn’t listened to this song much before I realized how great its lyrics are.
最近ずっと、それはもう病的に光の跡を聴いてる。
この曲はSPY×FAMILYのタイアップソングで2023年にリリースされた。
それはまではそんなに頻繁に聴く曲ではなかったが最近ペトロールズの河村俊介さんが亡くなった後のFNS歌謡祭でバンドメンバーの長岡亮介さんと三浦淳悟さんが星野源のサポートバンドとしてこの曲を演奏した際、彼らの状況も重なってからか急に歌詞がグッと近くに寄ってきた感じがしてそこから病的に聴いている。

星野源を語る上で欠かせないのは彼のベースにある"暗さ"である。これは決して悪口ではない。この暗さが様々曲においてエッセンスとなり化学反応を起こしている。

とすごくネガティブなことを言ってる。どうせ人はみんな死んで無に帰すのに何で思い出を作るのか。何もかも無くなるのに何の意味があるのか、そんな考えもしないことを考えさせられる。
未だに答え見つからない。
でも、このいくら考えても出ない答えを考えるのがすごい人間らしいと思う。そんなことを考えたって暮らしは続く。ならいっそ、そうやって増えていく思い出を、出会いを燃える命に焚べれたらそれはもう幸せなのではないかと思った。

mabanua
埼玉県出身の音楽プロデューサー／ドラマー／マルチクリエイター。名前は本名“manabu”のアナグラムに由来。さまざまなバンド活動を経て、2006年よりOvallに加入。2008年からmabanua名義でソロ・プロジェクトを始動させ、気鋭のトラックメイカーとして多彩なプロデュース・ワークを披露。アニメやCMまで活動域は多岐に渡り、高い支持を得る。大型フェスへの出演やU-zhaan、DJ MITSU THE BEATS、GAGLEなどとのコラボレーションも多い。2015年は矢野顕子、YOSHIKA、一十三十一などへの作品に参加。2018年に3rdアルバム『Blurred』をリリース。
BIALYSTOCKS

カネコアヤノ

Westan music
Under this section, most of the singers are singing in english.
Sometimes I listen westan music such as Bruno Mars, Ed sheeran, Billie Eilish, The 1975, Harry Styles, Superorganism Oasis ect.
For me, Western music is sometimes like an English textbook and also a tool that lifts my mood.
Among thses artist, I especially like Billie Eilish, Bruno Mars.
こちらに来てからというもの洋楽を聞く機会が圧倒的に増えた。去年までは4位以下のアーティストは大体邦楽のアーティストだったのに対して今年は8割洋楽のアーティストだった。特にPopsは、曲としても好きだし英語の勉強としてもよく聴いた。
正直洋楽は雰囲気とバイブスで聴いてるのであんまりパッと纏まった感想を書けないので英語のを読んでくれれば十分だと思う。
Billie Eilish
Her appeal lies in her voice. Her wispering voice is both creepy and beautiful at the same time.
These are a great example of this.
Songs with a unique atmosphere created with a few notes and those with impactful low sounds are perfect for late-night drives or walks. I guess even if you can not understand what lyric say you’d still get addicted to her songs.
Bruno Mars
24K magic, That’s What I like, Runaway Baby, Just the way you are, Uptown Funk.
He has a lot of smash hit songs that people can hear wherever you go in the whole world.
His main music sound style is R&B, Funk, and Rock, so his music creates a passionate atmosphere. Just listening to his songs for a day can change your mood to delight.
People often play pop songs like “24K Magic” and “Uptown Funk,” but I like his R&B, soul music, which has a calm mood like "After last nigh","When I Was Young Man".
個人的におすすめしたい洋楽
The1975
2002年にマンチェスター近郊で結成された彼らは、80年代のポップ、UKガラージ、クラシックなど多様なジャンルを取り入れ、2020年の『Notes on a Conditional Form』では環境活動家グレタ・トゥーンベリとのコラボも実現。フロントマンのMatty Healyは、個人的な問題や社会的テーマをユーモアと正直さで表現し、音楽の境界を広げ続けています。

Marie Ulvenことgirl in redは、ノルウェー出身のベッドルームポップアーティスト。日記のような感情的な歌詞とローファイサウンドで人気を集め、2016年に発表した「i wanna be your girlfriend」で一躍注目を浴びました。その後、EP『chapter 1』（2018年）と『chapter 2』（2019年）をリリースし、「bad idea!」や「dead girl in the pool」などの代表曲を生み出しました。
HONNE
UK出身のデュオHONNEは、エレクトロニックとソウルフルなポップを融合させ、2014年にデビューしました。代表作には、コラボレーションが特徴のアルバム『Warm on a Cold Night』（2016年）や『Love Me / Love Me Not』（2018年）があり、BTSのRMやGeorgiaとも共演しています。また、WhethanやSG Lewisの楽曲にも参加。Radiohead、Bon Iver、Kendrick Lamarから影響を受けながら、音楽の新たな可能性を追求し続けています。
Sum up
2024 was influenced by the English environment, so most of the music I listen to now is Western music compared to last year.
I found 1,215 artists and 3,848 songs this year. The songs I introduced in this blog, and otherwise, the many others I discovered, are some of the most wonderful songs I’ve ever heard.
I would like to enjoy my music life in 2025 as well.
