【282日目 note千日回峰行】勇気

私は一般的に、ほんとうの勇気というものは一つの正義に立脚しないことには、また良心に顧みてこれが正しいと思わないことには、湧いてこないと思うのです。だから、勇気が足りないということは、何が正しいかということの認識が非常にあいまいであるところから出てきている姿ではないかという感じがします。
人びとがそれぞれに自問自答して何が正しいかということを考える。そして、この正しさは絶対譲れない、この正しさは通さなければいけないという確固とした信念を持つならば、そこから出てくる勇気は、たとえ気の弱い人であっても非常に力強いものとなる。そういうような感じを私は持っているのです。

In general, I believe that true courage does not come from a place of righteousness, or from a place where one does not feel in one's conscience that something is right. Therefore, I feel that the lack of courage comes from the fact that the perception of what is right is very vague.
Each person asks himself or herself what is right. And if they have a firm conviction that this rightness is absolutely non-negotiable and must be passed, the courage that comes out of that will be extremely powerful, even for the weak-minded. That is how I feel.
