【301日目 note千日回峰行】論語

ひとかどの人で『論語』の一冊、観音経の一冊を書写しなかった人はいない。生活の中に『論語』を持ち、法華経を持ち、観音経を持ち、あるいは中江藤樹を持ち、山鹿素行を持たざる者はなかった。それはその人の中に、その生活の中に、事業の中に哲学や信仰があった。学問求道があった。
これが国を興し、人を救った。それが今日なくなった。こういうところに現代の浅ましい人間喪失がある。人間喪失とは、魂の喪失、心の喪失である。文明国の中でそれが最もはなはだしいものが今日の日本ではないか。

There is not a single person in the world who has not copied a volume of the Analects of Confucius or a volume of the Kannon Sutra. There was not a single person who did not have a copy of the Analects, a copy of the Lotus Sutra, a copy of the Kannon Sutra, a copy of Fujiki Nakae, or a copy of Motoyuki Yamaga in his life. There were philosophies and beliefs in the people, in their lives, and in their businesses. There was learning and seeking.
This is what made the country prosperous and saved people. This is no longer the case today. This is where the shallow loss of humanity of today lies. The loss of humanity is the loss of the soul, the loss of the mind. Among the civilized nations, this is most obvious in today's Japan, isn't it?
