わたしにとって、2020年は「激動の年」でした。

As for me, 2020 was a "turbulent year."

この年を忘れないため、わたしの記憶に残すため、2020年に起こったニュースを自由気ままに投稿していきます。

In order not to forget this year and to keep it in my memory, I will freely post the news that happened in 2020.

今年の流行語大賞は「3蜜」

3蜜・・コロナウイルス感染を防止するため、3つの蜜（密閉された空間、密集、密接な接触状況）を回避する3つのアプローチ、が今年の日本の流行語として12/1に選ばれました。

Sammitsu----or the "Three Cs " approach to preventing COVID-19 infection by avoiding closed spaces, crowds and close-contact situations ----was closen Dec. 1 as Japan's buzzword of the year .

日常生活に大きな影響を与えた新型コロナウイルスの大流行で、トップ10になった単語やフレーズは主にウイルスに関連していました。

With the novel coronavirus pandemic dominating everyday lives , the words and phrases that made the top 10 were largely related to the virus .

・「アベノマスク」とは、文字通り「安倍のマスク」を意味し、全国の店舗がマスクが不足しているため、1世帯あたり2枚の布製マスクを配布するという安倍晋三前首相が署名した新型コロナウイルス対策の1つを表しています。

・"Abenomask," which literally means "Abe's mask " and describes one of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's signature COVID-19 policies of distributing two cloth face masks per household as stores across the nation faced a shortage .

アベノマスクはまさに、予想通りの税金の無駄遣いでした・・。

Abenomask was just a waste of taxes as expected ...
