新英文法-4 第2文型の動詞

　第2文型の動詞は、主語について説明する補語を必要とする動詞で、be動詞が代表的なものです。

　補語になるのは、名詞・代名詞・形容詞・副詞・不定詞・分詞・動名詞・句・節などです。

この動詞には2つのタイプがあります。

　１、beに類する動詞

　　「～の状態にある、～に見える、～と感じられる」という意味を表すもので、beの他に
remain,lie,stand,rest,keep,stay,hold,look,appear,seem,feel,taste,smell,soundなどがあります。

Silence is unnatural to man.

He remained single.

The city lay utterly destroyed.

Please keep quiet.

She looks young for age.

He appears to be happy.

This cloth feels soft.

It smells delicious.




　２、becomeに類する動詞

　　「～になる」の意を表すもので、becomeの他に、　　grow,get,turn,come,go,run,fall,proveなどがあります。

He became a bank clerk.

It is growing dark.

How did they get acquainted?

He turned pale at the news.

The dream will come true some day.

The stock is running short.
