When to Replace Your Running Shoes? ASICS GT-2000 New York
ASICS is a famous Japanese shoes brand, and its GT-2000 series is a popular running shoes model.
I have been using them for a long time replacing them to a new model after they are worn out. I found ASICS GT-2000 9 Trail being sold at around 85 hundreds yen ($60) at Amazon that was cheaper price compared to a normal running shoes of GT-2000. So I bought them, and I didn't feel any difference between this model and normal GT-2000 while I was running.
When it comes to when to replace running shoes, it depends on where the shoes got damaged. In the case of GT-2000, generally I replace them after shoes are losing much of the outsole and are also losing the midsole. Sometimes, I would replace them because of bursting a part of pinky toe. The worst case I have ever had is that the whole of midsole was peeled off entirely.
GT-2000 9 Trail is also bursting around the left pinky toe as others, but I can still wear them for my running. I didn't replace them yet. If the hole is getting bigger, I would replace them maybe.
The outer sole around the right foot heel is missing (the left side of the above photo).
It is not the time for me to replace them yet, I still use them.
The left-foot shoe (right shoe of the photo) is losing the outsole around its toe. For me, it is still not the right time to replace them to new ones. They can still work as running shoes, so I won't throw them away. If the shoes are worn down more midsole, I might buy new running shoes.
But the life of these shoes came from another damage that led me to replace them to new ones.
The inner edge of the right shoe is bursting. This part is strengthen by the ASICS log. This damage could be hard to run because It could be unstable while running, and I would feel uncomfortable.
As a result, I decided to replace them to new shoes.
