Beidaihe is a high-class area of villas in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province. Mao Zedong loved it and spent his whole life in the summer there. Therefore, even the highest officials of the Chinese Communist Party who resided in Zhongnanhai (west side of Tiananmen Square in Beijing) moved there in the summer.The meetings held in Beidaihe allowed the CCP to decide important matters in secret.
北戴河は、河北省秦皇島市にある高級別荘地帯である。毛沢東は、ここを愛し生涯夏の間は同地ですごした。そのため中南海(北京天安門広場西側)に居を置いていた中国共産党最高幹部たちも、夏場は同地へ移転していた。
この北戴河で開かれる会議によって、中国共産党は長い間重要な案件を秘密裏に決定してきたのだ。
