こんにちは。ヤマトです。
駒ヶ根訓練所での日々を綴る、こまがねだよりWeek2です。

福岡の小学校で3年間勤めた後、青年海外協力隊2024年2次隊候補生になる。派遣国はソロモン、職種は小学校教育。海外協力隊派遣を前に、長野県駒ヶ根市で派遣前訓練に参加中。人生の目標は「いいパパになること」。
語学授業がスタート！
訓練所での生活は残りちょうど2ヶ月。グローカルプログラムの時よりも、あっという間に日々が過ぎてるなあと感じています。新しい環境と新しい人。最初のうちは新鮮さを感じていたけれど、だんだんと慣れてきていることを実感します。「初めに写真を撮らないと、新鮮さを失って撮らなくなるよ」との言葉どおり。最初の2週間くらいが、シャッターチャンスなんだろう。
月曜日からは、語学授業づくしの1週間が始まりました。大人になってからこんなに勉強だけに専念できる環境があることは、本当に貴重な気がします。「時間がなくて・・」とか「体力が残ってなくて・・」みたいな言い訳が強制的に通用しなくなるので、やるしかないと言う感じ。
朝8：45から14：50までレッスンを受けて、講座かオリエンテーションがなければそのまま17時まで語学自習。夜ご飯を食べたら教室で宿題や予習をする。働きながらの生活だったら、ありえない勉強スケジュールです。周りの候補生のレベルも高くて、なんとか追いつかなきゃという気持ちにもなれる。いつかちゃんと勉強しようと思っていた英語学習に対して、こうやって環境が整えられていることに感謝です。
いちばんに大切にしたいことは、正確な英語を話そうとするのではなく、英語で話そうとする気持ちを持ち続けること。2ヶ月で完璧にはなれないことはわかっているので、上達を目指しつつも、ミスを恐れないで英語で話す努力をし続けたいと思います。まさに「Don't be shy」
内容が協力隊活動に準じているので実践的。
海士町から持ってきたモノ
訓練所にはいろいろな人がいます。それぞれのバックグラウンドが違うのはもちろんのこと、興味や関心、趣味や特技もまるで違います。「私もせっかくなら！」と思いまして、海士町で出会ったモノをいくつか持ってきました。そのうちの一つがレヌカの学びです。
今回はこれを自主講座として、数名の仲間と開催することにしました。理由は単純に、初めてやった時に面白かったから！知らず知らずのうちにできる自らの「思い込み」や「偏見」に気付いたり、相手の目線に立って考える難しさを体験したりすることができる面白さが、このゲームにはあります。
異文化理解や多文化共生の観点は、協力隊活動において重要だと考えます。でもその難しさを教えてくれるのがこのレヌカの学び。全員には響かないかもしれないけど、いろんなきっかけを持って帰ってもらえたら開催する意義はあるのかなと思います。50人以上の方には参加してもらえそうなので、開催を楽しみに準備をしていきます！

Start English Lessons!
I have only two months left in KTC life, and it feels like "time flies so fast!" compared to the Glocal Program. I've experienced a new environment and met new people, and while everything initially felt new, I've now gotten used to living in KTC. I was advised to "take a photo when you arrive, or you'll lose those fresh feelings." The chance to capture this moment is only available during the first two weeks.
English lessons started on Monday. Having an environment where I can focus on studying is invaluable. I can’t use excuses like "I have no time…" or "I have no energy…". So, I’m committed to making the most of this opportunity!
My lessons run from 8:45 to 14:50. After class, I do my homework unless there's a special seminar, until 6 PM. I have dinner at 6:30, and then I review the day’s classes and study English further. If I were working, this schedule would be impossible to maintain. I want to keep up with other trainees, as their English levels are quite high. I’ve always wanted to improve my English, so I’m grateful for this environment.
What I want to focus on is not speaking English perfectly, but simply trying to speak in English. I know I might not achieve all my goals, but I’ll keep trying to speak English every day. I remind myself to "don't be afraid" and "don't be shy."
Things I Brought from Ama-town
There is a diverse range of people in KTC, not just in terms of backgrounds but also interests, hobbies, and special skills. I brought some items from Ama-town because it's a great opportunity. One of them is "Lenuka’s Learning."
We will hold an event with my friends as a self-seminar. The reason is simple: it was interesting when I tried it for the first time! This game helps us realize our own prejudices and challenges us to think from other people's perspectives.
JOCV needs to understand different cultures and multicultural coexistence. This game highlights the challenges of this understanding. I hope all participants find it thought-provoking and that it sparks a change in their perspectives. I’m ready to facilitate this game!
