名前を覚えてもらうために、自分が覚える

こんにちは。ヤマトです。
駒ヶ根訓練所での日々を綴る、こまがねだよりWeek1です。

福岡の小学校で3年間勤めた後、青年海外協力隊2024年2次隊候補生になる。派遣国はソロモン、職種は小学校教育。海外協力隊派遣を前に、長野県駒ヶ根市で派遣前訓練に参加中。人生の目標は「いいパパになること」。
入所して早数日。派遣国ソロモンへ行くメンバーが、他に5人もいることを知り、心強く感じています。私が派遣される地域はソロモンの首都ではなく、日本人がほぼいない離島ではありますが、島は違えど同期隊員が近くにいることに安心しています。
2024年度2次隊は全員で183名とのことで、顔と名前を一致させることを頑張った1週目でした。派遣国と職種まで覚えられたらサイコー。「わからなかったら名前を聞く」「間違えても許してもらう」を心に刻みながら、覚える努力をしています。これで生活班メンバー全員の顔と名前、職種と派遣国は覚えました。名前覚えてもらう前に、まずは自分が覚えないとね。
完璧主義を目指してしまうタイプなので、人の名前を間違えるのは嫌だし、恥ずかしい思いをするの嫌。でも、同期とよそよそしいまま、訓練所を離れるのはもっと嫌。なので、間違いは恐れているんですが、たくさん間違えながら「お名前なんでしたっけ？」と聞いてます。全員の名前と顔を覚えられますように。
小学校教育メンバーと語学メンバーはまだ集まりがないので、これからですね。協力隊に来ている以上、志を持っている人ばかりなので、きっかけさえあれば、みんなガンガンやりそうなイメージ。いろんなきっかけ作りを訓練所内で作っていきたいです。
密かに自主講座は企んでいるけども、一人ではやりたくないので（仲間とやる意義をグローカルプログラムで学んだので）、まず一緒に企画運営をしてくれる人を集めるところから！なんとかします。
いよいよ明日から語学学習の日々。毎日勉強と宿題を頑張ります。

It might be incorrect, but I'll try writing a diary in English.
A few days have passed since I entered KTC. I feel relieved because there are five members from the Solomon Islands. My dispatched area isn’t the capital of the Solomon Islands, and there are rarely any Japanese people here. But I feel comforted that they are near me, even though it’s different from the Islands.
There are 183 members in 2024-2 JOCV, so it’s hard for me to remember all the JOCVs. I hope to remember their dispatched country and occupation. I use phrases like “What’s your name?” (if I can’t remember their names) and “Sorry!” (if I make a mistake) . I make an effort to remember their names using these words. Finally, I got it. I learned that I need to remember their names first if I want them to remember my name.
I am such a perfectionist that I don’t like making mistakes with names and feeling embarrassed. However, I would hate to leave KTC without being able to make friends with my classmates. So I make an effort to say “What’s your name?” and I hope to remember all the members' names.
I couldn’t meet the members in elementary school education or my classmates. They must have passion and a strong will. I imagine that if they get a chance, they will start to be active. So I want to create many opportunities. I secretly plan a project but don’t want to do it alone, so I need to gather people who can manage the project together. I will manage it.
Finally, I will start learning English every day. I’ll do my best.
