This time, we summarized some websites that provide helpful information to international students on job-hunting.
◆Job-hunting Information Gather
This is a handbook prepared by JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) for international students (updated yearly.) It covers detailed information from job-hunting preparation to VISA applications and statuses, making it a great source of information for those who just started job-hunting. This handbook is available for download on JASSO’s homepage in Japanese, English, Chinese, or Korean.
Tokyo Employment Service Center for Foreigners is a government sector supporting students and professionals from international backgrounds to find the right job for them in Japan. This organization also provides volunteer services for Japanese language learning.
◆Discover More Companies
Outsourced by the Tokyo Metropolitan government, this website provides information to both job-hunting foreigners and small and middle-size companies that seek to hire international employees in Japan. They also conduct job briefing sessions and job-hunting seminars for international students and professionals throughout the year.
This is a website specialized in providing news and information to international students. Based on current trends and data, they also conduct and share research results on different topics related to international student hiring (i.e., hiring trends in various industries and positions).
A website to search for hiring information and events. Although it is mainly for Japanese students, you can filter the results by putting in keywords such as “international student.”
Ran by Mynavi, this is an information website for international students (English/Chinese available). They also hold Mynavi job-hunting seminars and online courses regularly.
◆Speak with Career Support Consultants
Hiring information website for international professionals. Not only can you find famous Japanese companies here but also international and venture companies. They offer end-to-end support from job-hunting preparation to offer negotiation.
Specialized career support agent for international students. They also hold a two-day international-student-only job fair with over 100 participating companies called “Connect Job Japan Tokyo & Osaka.” Confidential position and consultant support are also available.

Please check and search any company of interest and information on joint briefing sessions (※) as you plan out your job-hunting schedule.
※Joint briefing sessions are events where many companies gather together and conduct job debriefing sessions for job-hunting students. Each company has its designated area. Usually, current employees will run sessions to introduce the company and explain about job contents. Due to COVID-19, online sessions have also become more regular since 2020.
