There’re about 8 types in Japan, here’re the most common 4 Sakura!

🌸河津桜(kawàzù zàkura)
... Sakura with reddish pink petals. Often blooms a month earlier than Somei Yoshino. Shizuoka and Western Kanagawa is the most popular place to see them.
Blooming in: February to March

🌸ソメイヨシノ (somèì yòshino)
... The most common Sakura with the colour of pale pink or close to white.
Blooming in: March to April

🌸枝垂れ桜(shidàrè zàkura)
... Sakura with branches warping to the ground. Often blooms a week earlier than Somei Yoshino. The colour is a bit deeper than Somei Yoshino.

... Sakura with double petals like roses. Often blooms a week/ two weeks after Somei Yoshino.
