ショパン・ピアノコンクール　反田恭平final round

A feast for the ears and the soul. The sound of his piano is like nothing else. Marvellous. I sincerely hope you win this.

His interpretation is uniquely soft and mellow, and the phrases are singing joyfully. He rendered to express from joy to sorrow, despair to rejoice, elegance, and beauty. I listened to all of the performances in the contest to date, and I would predict he will take the first prize in this competition.

The great thing about him is that he has refined and developed the traditional Chopin image without destroying it. He is not merely unique, but also not self-indulgent. He is outstanding in the sense that he has all the elements to convince the audience.

Sorita is a true, mature musician! He really collaborated with the orchestra and gave a fresh and magical performance! He, along with Armellini , has distinguished himself in every round….. there were SO many salient aspects of this performance! As high as the level is this year, he truly stands out (as does Armellini)! Bravo, bravo, bravo!!!! Lastly, all the 17 year olds are truly wonderful and playing at a super high level but I believe it will be Sorita 1st and Armellini 2nd!

This man wasn’t there to compete - he was there to create music. Brilliant performance. Chopin would be proud.

His performance was overwhelmingly better than other 3, especially third part was best !!

A truly unique performance by a man who not only created wonderful music, but also enjoyed his own creation on stage. His experience as a conductor paid off handsomely and exposed so many voices and sounds that we hardly heard before.

Breathtakingly beautiful, every sound he played was just magical, it's still resonating both of my ears and heart beautifuly yet clearly even after finish listening. I am so hornored to listen such a prestigious performance, thank you so much for great performance, Sorita-san. You are definitely someting else, I will always be your fan and support you!

Sorita's decision to pace the tempo of the II movement the way he did was phenomenal. The colors and dynamics made the first few bars bring tears to my eyes. Bravo to Mr. Sorita and the splendid orchestra for this memorable performance!

I’m Chinese and I’m rooting for this guy. Great respect to Japan for consistently producing such fine musicians. Him and Hao Rao gave amazing performances but I think he is a shade better than Hao Rao. Let’s hope they both get prizes.

何度見返しても、この演奏はコンペティションではなく、反田恭平のリサイタル、しかも、おそらく、彼の生涯の演奏の中で「名演」と言えるものとなるでしょう。もちろん優勝してほしい気持ちはありますが、それはそれとして、ショパンコンクール史に残る名演にいつまでも記憶され続けることとなるでしょう。感激をありがとう！

反田さんの奏でる音の全てが美しい。繊細な音からダイナミックな音まで私の理想の音。画面に落ちる涙を見て初めて、自分が泣いていることに気づいた。いつか生で反田さんの演奏を聴いてみたい。結果はどうであれ私はファイナルまで反田さんの演奏が聴けて良かった。本当に嬉しいし幸せ。

So far I think his playing is the best.I can't help but repeating his video on and on.

素晴らしい!!　ひとつ、ひとつの音が心の底から湧き上がりこんなにも魂を揺さぶられる演奏者がいる事が日本人の誇りです。反田さん、素晴らしい演奏ありがとうございます。

2楽章のなんとも緩やかな反田さん流メロディーに、この時間が永久に続けばいいのにと思ってしまいました。心からブラボー🌟

This is the first time I ever felt Chopin was truly wonderful. (I rarely listen to Romantic School) Thank you So much Sorita and all the people who played this concerto with him.

He feels so comfortable and confident on the stage. His face was glowing with happiness to be here and create music during the whole performance! Great concerto and great playing! Bravo!

I listen to my heart when I listen to music, not an expert of sorts. All of the performances were beautiful, but when Sorita played those first notes of the Romance Larghetto, I genuinely smiled and melted into how delicately he translates emotions into his play. That was a genuine connection. He is my favorite this competition.

The best for this first day in my opinion. His voicings are exquisite and his changes are very tasteful. I always love new takes on Chopin.

The rarely-heard inner voices Mr. Sorita brought out just gave us incredible insights into Chopin's music. Some left-hand melodic lines are so exquisite. For examples: 06:16, 06:23, 06:30 those 3-note, ascending melodies are later mirrored by the right hand melody from 07:32, albeit in a more ornamented form. Such hidden melodic connections are mind-opening and so satisfying to hear. For this alone, Mr. Sorita deserves the Concerto Prize!
