日本英語の私塾

　 
 「日本英語の私塾」に入塾すると厳しいトレーニングが待っています。週に一度の二時間のレッスンですが、そのレッスンのために膨大な課題が君に課せられています。英語の長文の速読トレーニング、テキストの英文を百回以上聞いて完全にその英文をそらんじてくるトレーニング、レッスンのテキストを作る、自ら作ったそのテキストを翻訳ソフトで英文にして、その英文を対話レッスンするために完璧にそらんじてくるという課題。そして英文のスペルを完璧に書けるようにしてくる。これらの課題に懸命に取り組んでこなければ、週一度のレッスンは成り立ちません。英語という言葉を君の言葉としていくためには、このような厳しいトレーニングが絶対に不可欠なのです。
 
この私塾は週一回のレッスンですが、入塾すると厳しいトレーニングが待っています。まず中学一年生から三年生の英語のテキストを音読と速度によって読破し、その全文を暗記しかつその全文が筆記できるように訓練されます。こうして英語の基礎土台がつくられると、《草の葉メソッド》による本格的なトレーニングがスタートします。
 
英語を自由に話せるようになるには、君たちのなかに英語脳をつくっていかねばならないからです。英語脳をつくらなければ、英語を自由に話すなんてことはできないのです。このような厳しいトレーニングが課せられますから、英語の成績はトップクラスになるでしょう。
 
私たちが求める中学生は、週一回のレッスンをけっして休まない、厳しいトレーニングにも立ち向かてっていく、英語を自分の言葉にしたい、そして世界を変革していく人になりたいという高い志と熱意をもった中学生です。
 
英語は、日本語と同じように人間をつくっていく言葉です。ですから、テストのために、あるいは受験のために勉強するのではなく、君をさらに磨き、さらに成長させていくために英語という未知なる言葉に挑戦していくべきです。道は険しいが君とともに歩いていきます。
この私塾は一年制です。この一年間の集中レッスンで、英語という言語を体得していく基礎土台──英語口、英語目、英語耳、英語手、そして英語で思考していく英語脳が作られて卒業です。
 
この私塾はなぜ《英語の私塾》ではなく《日本英語の私塾》とするのか。それは日本人が英語という言葉をもう一つの民族の言葉とするには、日本英語を作り出さなければならないからです。
 
アメリカ英語がどうして誕生していったのか。それはアメリカ人がアメリカ英語を創造していったからです。アメリカのあの独立戦争とは、アメリカ人がつくったアメリカ英語と、それを弾圧しようとしたイギリス英語との戦いだったのです。その戦争に勝利したアメリカは、高らかに宣言します。「イギリス人よ、本当の英語を学びたかったらアメリカにきたまえ」と。
 
日本人が英語をもう一つの民族の言葉とするには、イギリス英語やアメリカ英語の奴隷となるのではなく、日本英語を作り出していくべきなのです。
日本人は言葉を生みだす天賦の才能の持った民族です。漢字を、ひらがなを、カタカナを生み出しました。おそらく三百年後には高らかにこう宣言するでしょう。「イギリス人よ、アメリカ人よ、本当の英語を学びたかったら日本にきたまえ」と。
 
《日本英語の私塾》はこの雄大な思想と使命を持って打ち立てられました。この塾の塾生となって、猛烈なトレーニングで日本英語を作り出していく基礎土台がつくられた君もまた、この雄大な思想と使命をもって生きていくことになるはずです。
