**Lift Up People**
Even though I'm told not to look back,
to listen to music, and uplift people by reading cards,
I can't help but listen to fist-pumping hip-hop,
giving off a stripper vibe with legs spread
and middle finger raised.
I've been that way since my teens,
so I don’t know any other way.
They say to find peace, to seek the light,
but I find my peace in the chaos of the night.
In the beats that shake my core,
in the rebellion that I adore.
It's not about the labels, the judgments cast,
it's about the freedom in each blast,
in an anthem of my own reality.
I lift up people in my own way,
through the real, the words, the dance I do.
So don’t tell me to change my vibes.
I uplift, resist, and defy in the echoes of hip-hop.
This is my way, my truth, my fight,
lifting up people at the edge of the world.
