"Occupational Disorder"
I've become too accustomed to being downgraded due to my "occupational disorder."
Since September, a young Japanese man has continually downgraded me. I told him to stop once, but it seems he didn't understand.
My problem seems to be that I'm far too familiar with boys who downgrade me.
The workplace where I had worked was limited to quite intelligent students, and compared to that, most situations are mild.
Moreover, because they are younger, I've been making efforts to avoid age bias, and I've also become used to lifting them up while being downgraded.
As a professor, I need them to improve.
That was my job.
This means I can easily encourage their arrogance.
Furthermore, Gen Z is quite interesting to me. I end up observing them intensely and trying to match their vibe. It's a sort of worldly wisdom, but as a researcher.
When I say, "Hey, please recognize what you are doing," they completely disrespect me. However, I cannot squash them due to educational considerations.
This is called "occupational disorder" in Japan.
Sigh.
