Today's kanji is "San(三)." So, let's start by explaining a little more about the word.
If you watch today’s video, you will be able to write 3 kanji. Because all 3 kanji include the basic kanji called "ichi(一)". The kanji that you can write using ”ichi(一)" are ”一(ichi)”,”二(ni)" and "三(san)". These are numbers 1, 2 and 3.
Before I draw these kanji, I will first prepare a kanji box. Imagine that your kanji are inside an invisible square box. This box will stop you drawing your kanji too big or too small.
First, let’s begin with writing the kanji for ”ichi(一)”. This kanji is drawn using 1 line. We draw a long horizontal line. That’s it!
"Ichi(一)” is complete!!
To tell the truth, kanji has an important writing rule. Japanese people are taught it at school when they are children. But, most Japanese people forget it when they grow up. The rule is that your kanji must all be the same height and width. But, it's okay to not learn this difficult rule when you first start writing, I guess. When you become more comfortable writing kanji, you should start following this rule.
Next, “ni(二)” which means two. This kanji is drawn using 2 lines.
First, we start by drawing a short horizontal line. And under the short horizontal line, we draw "ichi(一) which is a longer line".
"Ni(二)" is complete!!
FInally, "san(三)" which means three. This kanji is drawn using 3 lines. First, we draw "ichi(一)" and then we draw "ni(二)" under "ichi(一)".
"San(三)" is complete!!
