Today's kanji is hi(火). So, let's start by talking about what the word means.
This kanji is called both hi(火) and ka(火). Hi(火) means fire and Tuesday. This kanji looks a bit like a fire. To draw a stronger fire than hi(火) we use a kanji called honoo(炎). It uses two hi(火) kanji squashed together (or on top of each other). It's interesting.
So, let’s move on to writing the kanji for "hi(火)." This kanji has 4 lines.
Before I draw these kanji, I will first prepare a kanji box. Imagine that your kanji are inside an invisible square box. This box will stop you drawing your kanji too big or too small.
First, line 1 is a short vertical line. Draw it on the left-hand side of the kanji ‘box’.
Line 2 is a slanting line. It begins at the top on the right, and slants down to the center.
Line 3 is a long curving line. It begins at the top in the middle, and goes down to the bottom left-hand corner.
Line 4 is a slanting line. Start drawing it halfway down line 1, and then, draw it to the right-hand corner.
Hi(火) is complete!
