『さあ、降りて行って、そこで彼らのことばを混乱させ、
互いの話しことばが通じないようにしよう。』
ここでは、バベルの塔の話が出てきます。人間は、高慢になって、このように考えました。「
さあ、われわれは自分たちのために、町と、頂が天に届く塔を建てて、名をあげよう。」その状況を見た神は思いました。「見よ。彼らは一つの民で、みな同じ話しことばを持っている。このようなことをし始めたのなら、今や、彼らがしようと企てることで、不可能なことは何もない。」そこで、降りてきて、言葉を混乱させたのです。神は、私たちの生活の只中に降りてこられるのです。イエス様もまた、私たちの罪を贖う為に降りてこられました。
今日も、主の限りない愛に心を留めることができますように・・・。
「 "Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language,
that they may not understand one another's speech."」
Here we have the story of the Tower of Babel. Man, in his pride, thought thus. "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves” God saw the situation and thought. "Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." So God came down and confused the language. God comes down in the midst of our lives. Jesus also came down to atone for our sins.
May we remain mindful of His boundless love today....
