『正義によって王は国を建てる。
重税を取る者は国を壊す。』
北イスラエルと南ユダに分裂した要因の一つに、ソロモンの後継者レハブアムが重税を課した事によるものでした。為政者の顔がどこを向いているかは大事な事です。自分の欲望の為に治める王は、国を滅ぼし、人民の為に正しく治める王は、幸福をもたらすというのです。(箴言14:34）「正義は国を高め、罪は国民を辱める。」
今日も、主の御心に耳を傾けることができますように・・・。
「The king establishes the land by justice,
But he who receives bribes overthrows it.」
One of the reasons for the division between Northern Israel and Southern Judah was the heavy taxation imposed by Solomon's successor, Rehoboam. It is important to know where a ruler's face is turned. A king who rules for his own greed will destroy a nation, while a king who rules righteously for the people will bring happiness. (Proverbs 14:34) “Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people.”
