『私は、その二つのことの間で板ばさみとなっています。私の願いは、世を去ってキリストとともにいることです。そのほうが、はるかに望ましいのです。』

　パウロの生きがいは、イエス・キリスト、そして、もっと望んでいるのは、死んでイエス・キリストと共に過ごすことなのです。しかしながら、肉体において生きると多くの実を結ぶ結果となるし、それも良い事だし、パウロの本音は死んでイエスキリストと一緒に過ごしたい、それがもっと良い。この二つの板挟みとなっているというのです。

　今日も、主と共に過ごすことができますように・・・。

For I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

【Phi1:23／NKJV】　

For Paul, to live was Jesus Christ, and he desired even to die and spend time with Him. If he lived in the flesh, he would bear much fruit, and that would be good. But Paul's true desire was to die and spend time with Jesus Christ, which would be far better. He was caught in between the two.
