『ぶどう酒は嘲る者。強い酒は騒ぎ立てる者。
　これにおぼれる者はみな、知恵がない。』

【箴言　20:1】

　お金もお酒も中立なものです。ただ、その用い方によっては、善であったり悪であったりします。
聖書では、酒に酔って嘲る者になったり、騒ぎ立てる者になったりするのは、知恵がない者だと言われるのです。お酒が好きな人にとっては、窮屈な話だと思われるかもしれませんが、聖書では、このようにも書かれています。(第一テモテ6:17)「わたしたちにすべての物を豊かに備えて楽しませて下さる神に、のぞみをおくように、」知恵とは、創造主を知ることであり、食べるにも飲むにも何をするにも、そこには、平安が伴うのです。

　今日も、平安のうちに過されますように・・・。

「Wine is a mocker, Strong drink is a brawler,
　And whoever is led astray by it is not wise.」

【Proverbs 20:1】

　Money and alcohol are both neutral. However, depending on how they are used, they can be good or evil. In the Bible, we are told that it is the one who lacks wisdom who becomes a mocker or a rabble-rouser when drunk. For those who like to drink, this may seem like a tight squeeze, but the Bible also says this. (1 Timothy 6:17) "Look to God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy." Wisdom is knowing the Creator, and peace accompanies us in everything we do, whether we eat or drink.
