『ところが、宿泊所に着いて、
袋を開けると、なんと、私たちの一人ひとりの銀が
そのまま自分の袋の口にあったのです。それで、
私たちはそれを返しに持って参りました。』
ヨセフは、受け取った銀を返すように部下に命じていました。だから、食料はただでもらったことになります。これは、恵みですね。私たちの救いも神の恵みによるものなのです。私たちが神の為に何かをしたわけではない。救いの為の報酬があるわけではない、ただただ神の恵みなのです。感謝あるのみです。
今日も、主の恵みに感謝できますように・・・。
「"but it happened, when we came to the encampment,
that we opened our sacks, and there,
each man's money was in the mouth of his sack,
our money in full weight;
so we have brought it back in our hand.」
Joseph had ordered his men to return the silver they had received. So, the food was given to them for free. This is grace. Our salvation is also by God's grace. We did not do anything for God. There is no reward for salvation, just God's grace. There is only gratitude.
May we be thankful for His grace today....
