『死に渡されるために捕らえられた者を救い出し、
殺されようとしてよろめき歩く者を助け出せ。』
「死に渡されるために捕らえられた者」、「殺されようとしてよろめき歩く者」の表現からイエス様の十字架に架けられる前の姿を彷彿とさせます。十字架の死は私たちを救う為の身代わりの死でした。ここに愛があるのです。翻って今、そんな人たちを救う愛が自分にあるかと問えば、無きに等しいのです。祈らざるを得ません。
今日も、十字架の愛を深く感じることができますように・・・。
「Deliver those who are drawn toward death,
And hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.」
The phrases “those who are drawn toward death” and “those stumbling to the slaughter” remind us of Jesus' appearance before His crucifixion. His death on the cross was a substitutionary death to save us. Here is love. If I ask ourselves whether I have the love to save such people now, it is almost impossible. I must pray.
May we feel the love of the cross deeply today....
