『愚かさは子どもの心に絡み付いている。
　懲らしめのむちがこれを子どもから遠ざける。』

【箴言　22:15】

　子どもは、良い事は教えないとやりませんが、悪い事は教えなくてもやるものです。リビングバイブルでは、このように訳されています。「若者は反抗心でいっぱいですが、正しく罰すれば素直になれます」ひとりの子どもの親として選ばれたので、子どもが幸せになるための鞭を控えてはならないと言うのです。その根底には、子どもに対する愛が必要なのです。

　今日も、主の愛が我が愛となりますように・・・。

　The rod of correction will drive it far from him.」

　Children will not do good things without being taught, but they will do bad things without being taught. The Living Bible translates it this way: “Young people are full of rebellion. Since you have been chosen to be the parent of a child, you must not withhold the whip so that the child will be happy. At the root of this is the need for love for the child.
