Restaurant『Metiz』  in Manila

Opened in 2019 after globetrotting Stephan Duhesme returned to his native Philippines, Metiz is a showcase to all things Filipino, using all-local ingredients. The name comes from the French ‘mestizo’, a term that refers to people of mixed Filipino and foreign ancestry, reflecting the chef’s own heritage and the meeting of influences in his native cuisine.

Emilio Jacinto(エミリオ・ハシント)

Emilio Jacinto

Emilio Jacinto y Dizon (December 15, 1875 – April 16, 1899) was a Filipino general during the Philippine Revolution .He was one of the highest-ranking officers in the Philippine Revolution and was one of the highest-ranking officers of the revolutionary society Kataas-taasang, Kagalang-galang na Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan, or simply and more popularly called Katipunan, being a member of its Supreme Council. He was elected Secretary of State for the Haring Bayang Katagalugan, a revolutionary government established during the outbreak of hostilities. He is popularly known in Philippine history textbooks as the Brains of the Katipunan while some contend he should be rightfully recognized as the "Brains of the Revolution" (Filipino: Utak ng Himagsikan, a title that is usually given to Apolinario Mabini. Jacinto was present in the so-calledCry of Pugad Latin (or Cry of Balintawak) with Andrés Bonifacio, the Supremo of the Katipunan, and others of its members which signaled the start of the Revolution against the Spanish colonial government in the islands.

Mariano Ponce

Mariano Ponce y Collantes ; March 22, 1863 – May 23, 1918)commonly known as just Mariano Ponce was a Filipino physician, writer, statesman, and active member of the Propaganda Movement.

In 1898,  Emilio Aguinald chose him to represent the First Philippine Republic. Ponce was tasked to draft a framework of the revolutionary government. In 1898, Emilio Aguinaldo selected him as a diplomatic representative of the First Republic to Japan. He traveled to Japan to seek aid and purchase weapons. During his stay he met with the founder and First President of the Chinese Republic; Sun Yat-Sen.Through discussions and negotiations, Dr. Sun and Ponce became close friends. Dr. Sun introduced Ponce to a Japanese Filipino man named José Ramos Ishikawa, who assisted Ponce in purchasing weapons and munitions for the revolution. The shipment, unfortunately failed to reach the Philippines due to atyphoon off the coast of Formosa.

Mariano Ponce & Sun Yat-Sen(孫文)

At this point, since President Aguinaldo had ties to Sun Yat-sen, wasn't the real enemy of the Filipinos not Spain or America, but the Han Chinese?

However, in the 20th century, people became financially tied down, and everyone, including Filipinos, Japanese, and Americans, became victims. I think you can understand this if you think carefully about why President Lincoln of the United States was assassinated.
Even though the Philippine Revolution achieved independence from Spain, the country has now been transferred to a system controlled by banks and international finance capital.
People just want to live happily, but it makes me sad because I feel sorry for everyone.

These papers do not seem to give any historical importance to the Han Chinese or the Jews.

"Yes Please" Uptown BGC

I met a very skilled bartender in Manila. I always order cocktails from her. I first visited “Yes Please” in Uptown BGC in 2017. This bar has an excellent interior design from an architectural point of view, making our stay a very comfortable space. Of course, the drinks are also delicious. In addition, the sound equipment is of the highest quality and the PA engineer's skills are high. And the DJ's selection and play make our drinks even more fun and intoxicating.

Ruy López de Villalobos.

Ruy López de Villalobos was a Spanish explorer who led a failed attempt to colonize the Philippines in 1544

Villalobos was commissioned in 1541 by Antonio de Mendoza, the viceroyof New Spain and first colonial administrator in the New World, to send an expedition to the Philippines, then known to the Spanish as the "Islands of the West" (Islas del Poniente).

In 1543, he set sail from Mindanao, passed through Okinawa, and discovered the volcanoes of Japan. I also think he was looking for whales as well as minerals like gold and silver.

Jorge Álvares

Jorge Alvarez was a Portuguese ship captain and slave trader who came to Japan in 1546. When Georges finished his work and returned to Malacca, he took Yajiro on board and introduced him to Xavier.

Most of the Japanese slaves taken overseas were led by Portuguese merchants, and the number of victims is estimated to be around 50,000.

In 1582, the famous boys' mission sent to Rome witnessed young Japanese women being used as slaves everywhere they went around the world, and in reality there were many times more. It is said that this is the case.

(I believe that not only Japanese and Filipinos, but all people around the world need to gain independence from this cleverly designed system of slavery.)
