The meaning of studying English

When you are asked about what purpose you have or the meaning of studying English, I wonder how you are going to answer that. In my case, I am sure to reply from three perspectives.

Firstly, we can expand our relationship by communicating with foreigners. English is just a tool which we communicate with, on the other hand, it is one that makes us happy. I talk with an English teacher online every day, I am content with having a conversation with a teacher who can make myself understood with my English.

Second, studying English makes my knowledge deeper and wider. In the middle of a conversation, I learned a lot of unknown words. Of course, there are still a lot of words that I can’t just understand, but I can learn a real way to use English and know its nuance without using other textbooks.

Lastly, I can obtain new worthy culture by studying English. There are many things diverse from other countries compared to Japan, such as languages, lifestyle, history, and religion. In particular, I have been surprised at a concept of religion. When I talked about religion with people who were  born and raised in Europe their faith in God is so powerful and authentic. So I was surprised at that. 

In short, English study can definitely help you anywhere and any time, and makes your life enjoyable. Which is why I have studied English.
