Inspiring (心に刺さる) Stories ２

最近出会った Another Inspiring Story です。
　記憶を頼りに英訳を試みたので、メッセージは同じつもりですが、実際の話とは違っています。「実は美味しい！自由英作文」でも紹介したS+PEE+Cの書き方で、内容に説明も加えているので、少し饒舌です。うまくメッセージが伝わるといいのですが・・・
日本語も下につけています。

   Suppose you have a limited amount of money you can use in your LIFETIME.  How would you manage your finance? 
   Probably, every time you have to spend some money, you would stop and ponder on how your budget is allocated for what.  This is a similar, but minor life situation where you have only 7,000 yen available for the week.  You will try your best to spend no more than 1,000 yen per day, and probably on essential items, such as food. 
   You might make a thorough list of what you prioritize for that limited amount.  This is probably because money is what you have to count on to live.  

   What about time?  Do you treat time in the same way as you do with money? 
   The tricky part of this question is that you COULD not know how much time is left for you, unless something urgent unfortunately happens.  Whether you like it or not, the time you can use in your LIFETIME is limited.  Every human being is mortal.  You just assume you always have time in hand. 
   Time will slip through your fingers unless you hold it tight.  Time should be as precious as money, or probably more!  

一生涯で使える「お金」と「時間」を比べているところ、そして「残りの時間」を知る由もないという事実が、私の心に強く「突き刺さり」ました。

簡単な日本語訳です。

一生涯で使えるお金が決まっているとしたら、あなたはどのようにそのお金を使いますか？何にどれだけ使うかを、きっと立ち止まって考えますよね。例えば、１週間に７千円しか無いとするなら、一日千円以内で、食べ物など必要不可欠のものに使いませんか。もしかしたら、何にどう使うかの詳細なリストを作ったりするかもしれません。お金は生きていく上で重要なものですから。

時間はどうでしょうか？お金と同様に大切なものとして扱っていますか？ここで問題なのは、残念なことに、何か不幸なことが起こらない限り、「どれだけ時間が残されているか」を知り得ないことです。時間は有限です。人は不死身ではないのに、時間は無限にあるとたかをくくっています。しっかり握っていないと、時間は指の間からすり抜けていってしまいます。お金と同様に欠けがえの無いもの、あるいはそれ以上のもののはずなのに。
