№10. 奥さんが到着。新しいシンガポール生活が始まります

本日はいつものフィットネスネタではないのですが、これからのシンガポール生活がまた大きく変わるテーマなので、ご報告いたします。

先日、ついに奥さんが日本からシンガポールへやって来ました。

私のEパス（就労ビザ）が承認されたのちに、Dパス（配偶者ビザ）を申請していたのですが、無事に承認されたのです。

シンガポールの生活拠点が少し落ち着いてからの方がよいだろうということで、私から2ヶ月遅れでの到着となりました。

私が一通り経験しているとはいえ、やはり今の時期、出国～入国のプロセスには緊張が走ります。

出発前のPCR検査で万が一、陽性反応が出たらどうしよう？入国手続きに必要な書類はこれで本当に全部そろっているのか？シンガポールに到着してから英語のアナウンスを理解できるか？などなど。

ビザ申請をお願いした税理士Hさんに何度も質問したり（←とても親身に対応して下さいました）、ネットでそれらしい言葉を入れて調べてみたり。

英語の案内でそもそもよく分からない上に、コロナ禍の入国ルールがコロコロと変わるので最新情報をキャッチアップするのもひと苦労です。

こんな感じでできるだけの準備をして奥さんの入国に備えましたが、それでも「たぶん大丈夫だろう」くらいのレベル感。

あとは当日、何が起こるか分からない。

訳が分からなくなったら、パスポートとビザ申請に関わった書類をすべてプリントして持ってきたので、それを係りの人に丸ごと渡せば何とかしてくれるだろうという感じです。

そして迎えた入国当日。

やはり、入国手続きはチェック項目も多く、かなりの時間を要しました。

シンガポールでは、一部の国からの入国について隔離免除に踏み切りました（日本は対象外）が、それでもまだこの時期に観光目的で入国する人など、ほとんどいません。

今シンガポールに入国するのは、仕事や家族の事情など、それ相応の理由のある人たちです。それぞれのビザの発給内容や、チェック項目などもおそらくバラバラなのでしょう。

確認する側もされる側もほぼ初めてのプロセス。つまり、お互いよく分かってない。

まあ、時間がかかるのは仕方のないことです。

奥さんは、提出した書類に不備があったらしく、突き返されてその場で書き直しするなど、ちょっとしたトラブルはあったようですが、なんとか無事にシンガポールに入国することができました。

そこから１週間の隔離生活です。

私の時は、永遠に続くかのような2週間のホテル隔離を経験しましたが、今回はそれが1週間に。隔離場所もホテルではなく、自宅でOKということで、だいぶ助かりました。

2週間に比べると、1週間はあっという間ですね。

最終日のPCR検査もクリアし、シンガポールでの二人暮らしがスタートしました。

二人とも初めての海外生活、それぞれの目に映るシンガポールは、また全然ちがう印象だと思います。単純に男の目線と女性の目線で全然違うでしょうから。

実際、街を散歩していても、お店を覗いてみても、お互いに足を止めるもの、目に留まるものが違いすぎて、笑ってしまいます。

その違いを共有しながら、お互いに新しい発見をしていくというのも、海外生活の醍醐味なのでしょう。

せっかくの経験を楽しんでいきたいと思います。

Today is not the usual fitness topic, but I'd like to report that it is a theme that will change the future of my Singapore life again. The other day, my wife finally came to Singapore from Japan. I was applying for a D pass (spouse visa) after my E pass (working visa) was approved, but it was successfully approved. She arrived 2 months later than I thought it would be better if my living base in Singapore had settled down. Even though I have experienced, the process of departure and entry is still tense at this time. What if the PCR test before departure gives a positive reaction? Do we really have all the necessary documents for immigration procedures? Can she understand the English announcement after arriving in Singapore? etc. I asked H-san, a tax accountant whom I requested a visa, many times (← he was very kind to me), and I tried to find out by entering such words on the Web. In addition to not being able to understand the information in English, it is difficult to catch up with the latest information because the immigration rules under New Corona are different. I prepared as much as I could to prepare for my wife's entry, but I still feel that it's probably okay. After that, I don't know what will happen on that day. If she doesn't understand the reason, she has printed out all the documents related to her passport and visa application, and I feel that if she gives them to the person in charge, they will do something about it. And on the day of entry. After all, there were many check items in the immigration procedure, and it took a considerable amount of time. In Singapore, quarantine exemptions have been granted for entry from some countries (not applicable to Japan), but few people still enter the country for tourism purposes during this period. Those who are entering Singapore now are those who have a specific reason, such as work or family circumstances. The details of each visa issuance and check items are probably different. This is almost the first process for both the confirming side and the receiving side. In other words, they don't understand each other well. Well, it can't be helped that it takes time. My wife seemed to have some troubles such as being thrown back and rewriting on the spot because the submitted documents seemed to be incomplete, but she entered Singapore safely. It's been a week of isolation from there. At my time, I experienced 2 weeks of hotel quarantine that seemed to last forever, but this time it was 1 week. The quarantine location was not a hotel, but it was OK at home, which was a great help. Compared to 2 weeks, 1 week is so fast. The PCR test on the final day was also cleared, and we started living together in Singapore. I think that both of them have their first overseas life, and Singapore, which they see in their own eyes, has a completely different impression. It's simply because the eyes of a man and the eyes of a woman are completely different. In fact, whether you're walking around the city or looking into the shops, the things that stop and catch our eyes are so different that we laugh. Sharing the differences and making new discoveries with each other is probably the real pleasure of overseas life. I'd like to enjoy the experience in this chance.
