I think I've come up with another idea for a future meetup event.
将来のミートアップイベントのための新しいアイデアを思いついたと思います。
Just like all the previous ones I've created over the past few months, this will also be for both foreigners and Japanese people.
ここ数か月間に作成してきたこれまでのイベントと同様に、今回も外国人と日本人の両方が対象です。
At this event, I'd like to draw on my five years of experience working at a vocational school where foreign students aim to get jobs in Japan.
このイベントでは、外国人学生が日本で就職を目指す専門学校での5年間働いた経験を活かせればと思っています。
During the event, I'm thinking of giving a mini Japanese lesson where participants can learn basic greetings, practical phrases, and table manners, as well as etiquette in Japanese restaurant settings.
イベントの中で、参加者が基本的な挨拶や実用的なフレーズ、テーブルマナー、そして日本のレストランでの礼儀作法を学べるミニ日本語レッスンを考えています。
After that, I'll actually take the guests to a restaurant and have them order food and drinks by themselves in Japanese.
その後、実際に参加者の方をレストランに連れて行き、自分で日本語で食べ物や飲み物を注文してもらいます。
What will make this event one of a kind is that Japanese attendees will join me in teaching Japanese and sharing their culture.
このイベントを特別なものにするのは、日本人の参加者が私と一緒に日本語を教えたり、自分たちの文化を共有したりする点です。
That way, Japanese participants who are not confident in their English abilities can naturally interact with foreigners.
そうすることで、英語にあまり自信がない日本人の参加者も自然に外国人と交流できます。
Just like me in the past, Japanese people tend to be too modest, humble, and reserved at times (of course, these are virtues and part of our identity that we should take pride in), especially in international settings like this.
過去の自分と同じように、日本人は特にこういった国際的な場面では、控えめで謙虚で遠慮がちになりがちです（もちろん、これらは美徳であり、日本人として誇りに思うべきアイデンティティの一部です）。
It's such a shame to shy away from opportunities to mingle just because you don't want to risk coming off as overly friendly.
なれなれしいと見られるリスクを恐れるあまり、交流の機会を避けてしまうのは本当に残念なことです。
I thought the idea of teaching Japanese could break the barrier without making them overthink it.
日本語を教えるというアイデアが、深く考えさせることなくその壁を打ち破る助けになるのではないかと思いました。
Needless to say, foreigners who are enthusiastic about learning Japanese will be happy to learn from native speakers and will appreciate the effort.
言うまでもなく、日本語を熱心に学びたい外国人は、ネイティブスピーカーから学べることを喜び、その努力に感謝するでしょう。
As of now, I have several other commitments to deal with first, but once I get settled, I want to launch this new event as soon as possible!
今のところ、まず対処すべき他の事がいくつかありますが、それが片付いたら、この新しいイベントをできるだけ早く始めたいと思います！
