気がかりなこと

Concerns
I usually ride my motorcycle to get around the city.
普段、私はバイクで街中を移動しています。
Even though it can be tough and scary at times, especially during winter and on rainy or windy days, I think it's very convenient, economical, and suitable for my lifestyle, considering the fact that I'm single and don't have a family to support.
冬や雨、風の強い日には大変で怖いこともありますが、私は独身で家族を養う必要がないことを考えると、とても便利で経済的で、私のライフスタイルに合っていると思います。
I've been riding my current motorcycle for three to five years now, and it's been running smoothly without any major issues, except for the times when I've had to get it repaired by a mechanic.
今のバイクにはもう3年から5年ほど乗っていますが、整備士に修理してもらったとき以外は、大きな問題もなくスムーズに走っています。
However, there have been a few minor concerns recently.
しかし、最近いくつか気になる小さな問題があります。
For one, it seems like the blinkers haven't been working properly for the past few weeks.
まず一つ目は、ここ数週間、ウインカーがうまく作動していないようです。
Some days they seem fine, but on other days, they don't signal when I turn either right or left.
ある日にはちゃんと作動するのに、別の日には右に曲がる時も左に曲がる時も信号を出さないことがあります。
If this happens when a police officer is behind me, I could get a ticket and be fined a significant amount.
もし警官が後ろにいるときにこれが起こったら、違反切符を切られて多額の罰金を科されるかもしれません。
I want to avoid that since I haven't been ticketed in over ten years.
10年以上も切符を切られていないので、それは避けたいです。
If I remember correctly, the last time I got a ticket was when I was riding a motorcycle delivering lunch boxes, trying to get them to customers on time.
確か最後に切符を切られたのは、バイクで弁当を届けていて、お客様に時間通りに届けようとしていた時でした。
I wasn't driving recklessly—just going 50 kilometers per hour—but according to the law, I was 20 kilometers over the speed limit. (Motorcycles with small engines aren't allowed to go over 30 kilometers per hour.)
私は無茶な運転をしていたわけではなく、時速50キロで走っていただけですが、法律によれば制限速度を20キロ超過していたことになります。（小型バイクは時速30キロを超えてはいけないのです。）
When the police officer pulled me over, I remember thinking like,
警官に止められたとき、私はこう思ったのを覚えています
"This is ridiculous! I'm working here, trying to deliver on time. You're wasting my time, and now the customers will be upset!
「これはおかしい！私はここで仕事をしていて、時間通りに届けようとしているんです。あなたが時間を無駄にしているせいで、お客様が怒るじゃないですか！
Who actually follows this 30-kilometer rule anyway? I've never seen anyone stick to it.
そもそも、誰がこの30キロ制限を守っているんですか？誰もそんなに遅く走っているのを見たことがありません。
In fact, it's more dangerous to drive that slow when sharing the road with cars!"
実際、車と同じ道を走っているときに、そんなに遅く走るほうが危険です！」
I felt like I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and that they were just trying to hit their ticket quota.
その時私は、ただ運が悪かっただけで、警官はノルマを達成するために違反切符を切ろうとしているんだなと思いました。
Anyway, that was the last time I got a ticket.
とにかく、それが最後に切符を切られた時でした。
Secondly, I'm worried about the rear tire.
次に気になるのは、後輪タイヤのことです。
The air pressure tends to drop pretty quickly, to the point where it’s almost zero.
空気圧がすぐに低くなって、ほぼゼロに近くなることがよくあります。
I don’t remember the exact unit, but it's supposed to be around 200.
正確な単位は覚えていませんが、だいたい200くらいであるべきです。
When I go to a gas station, I often ask the staff to fill it up with air.
ガソリンスタンドに行くと、よくスタッフの方に空気を入れてもらいます。
I haven't noticed any holes or damage on the tire surface, so I don't think it’s completely flat.
タイヤの表面に穴や損傷は見当たらないので、完全にパンクしているとは思っていません。
I'll have to keep an eye on these two issues to make sure they don't get worse.
これらの2つの問題が悪化しないように、しっかり注意していかないといけません。

❶convenient：便利な
The new train station is very convenient for people commuting to work.
新しい駅は通勤する人にとって非常に便利です。
❷economical：経済的な、節約できる
Cooking at home is more economical than eating out at restaurants every day.
毎日レストランで食べるよりも、自宅で料理をするほうが経済的です。
❸signal：信号を出す、合図する
Make sure to signal before changing lanes on the highway.
高速道路で車線を変える前に必ず合図を出してください。
❹ridiculous：ばかげた、非常識な
It’s ridiculous to charge so much money for a simple sandwich.
ただのサンドイッチにそんなに高いお金を請求するなんて馬鹿げています。
❺pressure：圧力、プレッシャー
You should check the tire pressure regularly to avoid accidents.
事故を避けるために、タイヤの空気圧を定期的にチェックするべきです。
