シャロン・マエダ 先生の経歴：日米ギフテッド教育協会の名誉顧問

シャロン・マエダ ：

シャロン・マエダはギフテッド教育の分野で30年近くの経験がある専門家・教師。

ギフテッド教育専門の公立小学校校長、2つの学区のギフテッド教育コーディネーター、ギフテッド教育コンサルタントを歴任。現在は日米ギフテッド教育協会の名誉顧問を勤め、日本の教員へのギフテッド教育の指導法のトレーニングと資格認定制度の立ち上げに尽力している。自身がギフテッド児の親でもある。

カリフォルニア大学アーバイン校およびカリフォル ニア州立大学フラートン校で、教師や管理職を対象にギフテッド教育の資格を発行する講座を担当。また、オレンジ郡ギフテッド教育評議会の理事を務め、いくつかの学区のためのギフテッド児識別システムとトレーニング認証のプログラムを開発し、多くのギフテッド児の保護者トレーニングイベントを企画、発表している。教師、保護者、管理職に対し、ギフテッド教育カリキュラム作り、戦略、ギフテッド児の社会的情緒的ニーズのサポート、ギフテッド児の識別、ギフテッド・プログラム開発、教師のトレーニング方法の指導を行ってきた。
カリフォルニア・ギフテッド協会（CAG）、オレンジカウンティー・ギフテッド協会（OCC GATE）、アリゾナ・ギフテッド協会などのイベントや会議でもプレゼンターを務める。

シャロンはアリゾナ州教育委員会と連携し、アリゾナ州内の学校や地区のギフテッド教育コンサルタントを務め、地区や学校がギフテッドプログラム、識別システム、教師向けの資格プログラムを開発するのを支援した経験もある。また、アリゾナ州全土の教師および管理職の 訓練も行った。同時に、ホートン・ミフリン社およびLetrs社（Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling）のトレーナーとして、全米を巡回し、教師や管理者のプレゼンテーションや研修を行った。

カリフォルニアギフテッド協会（CAG）特別功労賞、タスティン市学区およびアナハイム市学区のゴールデン・アップル賞、ディズニー・アメリカン・ティーチャー・アワード候補者、オレンジ郡ティーチャー・オブ・ザ・イヤー候補者、アナハイム市学区ティーチャー・オブ・ザ・イヤー、トーマス・ジェファーソン・スクール・ティーチャー・オブ・ザ・イヤー、オプティミスト・インターナショナル・アウトスタンディング・ティーチャー賞、オレンジ郡レジスター・ティーチャー・オブ・ザ・マンスなど、数々の賞を受賞。シャロンは、ギフテッド教育の多様な領域の育成に重点を置き、教師、管理職、保護者、より広い地域社会、そしてギフテッドの生徒自身に指導と専門知識を提供することに深くコミットしている。彼女の献身的な努力は、ギフテッドの生徒たちがその潜在能力を最大限に引き出せるようにすることを目的としている。

Sharon Wada Maeda GATE Biography:

Sharon Wada Maeda has been a gifted educator, presenter, and specialist for nearly 30 years. She has served as a GATE teacher, Principal of a GATE Magnet School, a GATE Coordinator for 2 school districts, a Gifted Education consultant, and a parent of a gifted child.
Sharon has written and taught courses at University of California Irvine Extension and California State University of Fullerton in the area Gifted Education for credentialed teachers and administrators. She has served as a Board Member for the Orange County Council for Gifted Education, and she has developed programs in identification systems and training certification for several school districts, and she has created and presented at numerous GATE parent training events. She has trained teachers, parents, and administrators in gifted curriculum, strategies, supporting social emotional needs, identification, developing gifted programs, training methods, and other areas in school districts. She has been a presenter at events and conferences such as the California Association for the Gifted (CAG) Conference, OCC GATE Conference, and Arizona Gifted Conference. 
Sharon has also worked in conjunction with the Arizona State Department of Education as a Gifted Education Consultant for schools and districts throughout Arizona, where she helped districts and schools to develop gifted programs, identification systems, and training certification programs. She also trained teachers and administrators throughout the state. She simultaneously worked as a trainer for Houghton Mifflin and Letrs (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) travelling across the country to present and train teachers and administrators.
Sharon has received numerous recognitions such as the California Association for the Gifted (CAG) Distinguished Service Award, Golden Apple Award for Tustin Unified School District and Anaheim City School District, She was a Disney American Teacher Award Nominee, Orange County Teacher of the Year award nominee, Anaheim City School District Teacher of the Year, Thomas Jefferson School Teacher of the Year, Optimist International Outstanding Teacher Award, and Orange County Register Teacher of the Month. Sharon is deeply committed to offering guidance and expertise to teachers, administrators, parents, the broader community, and GATE students themselves, focusing on nurturing the diverse realm of gifted education. Her dedication aims to empower our GATE students to unlock and achieve their utmost potential.
