Unfortunately, due to our accounting policies, it is difficult to proceed in line with your proposal. Therefore, we would like to offer an alternative suggestion from our side. As the official fees for the 4th and 5th years are generally the same, would it be possible for A to cover the full amount of the 4th year’s official fees, while B takes responsibility for the 5th year’s fees in return?

In the event that there is a fee revision by the Patent Office, we will adjust the amounts to ensure that the total official fees for the 4th and 5th years are equal and will bill both parties accordingly. However, since the law was just revised on April 1, 2022, we believe the likelihood of a fee revision is low.

Please note that B has already agreed to this proposal.
