水琴窟の音が響く The sound of Suikinkutsu echoes

小鳥の囀りで聴こえにくいが、確かに水が水面に落下した時に発する金属音のような音が響いている。

It's hard to hear because of the singing of a small bird, but it certainly sounds like a metallic sound when water falls on the surface of the water.

ご存知「水琴窟」。日本庭園などでよく見かける手水鉢の、地中にある空洞の中に水滴を落下させ、その際に発せられる音が反響する。

You know "Suikinkutsu". Water droplets are dropped into the underground cavity of a chozubachi, which is often seen in Japanese gardens, and the sound emitted at that time echoes.

その音に耳を傾け、侘び寂びの世界観を昔から楽しんでいた。

I listened to the sound and enjoyed the world view of Wabi-Sabi for a long time.
