貴重な代物「浪華の魁」。当時の店風景がリアルに伝わる　 　A valuable substitute, "Naniwa no Sakigake". The store scenery at that time is transmitted realistically.

「浪華の魁(さきがけ)」、と言われてもピンとこない。
現物を見せられてもよう分からない代物だ。
タテ８㎝、ヨコ１５㎝、そして厚みが３㎝ほどの冊子である。
表紙は色厚紙がめくれボロボロ状態だが、中身はきれいに保存されている。
奥付に、発行日が明治15年1月19日とあった。
挿絵付の店頭風景が充実した大阪の業種別商人名鑑である。

Even if it is said to be " Naniwa no Sakigake ", it doesn't come to my mind.
It is something you don't know even if you show it in kind. It is a booklet with a length of 8cm, a width of 15cm, and a thickness of about 3cm. The cover is in a tattered state with colored cardboard turned over, but the contents are well preserved.
In the colophon, the issue date was January 19, 1890.
This is an industry-specific merchant directory in Osaka with a full range of storefronts with illustrations.

この時代は、まだ内閣制度の前の太政官制の時代で議会政治が始まろうというとき。大坂(阪)では東区を中心とした商いの町「船場」が活発に賑わっていたころである。
そのとき繁盛していた商店の名簿である。これに掲載されている商店は、当時、数多くある商店の中のパイオニア的存在として一斉を風靡していたようである。

This era is when parliamentary politics is about to begin in the era of the taiseikan system, which was before the cabinet system. In Osaka, the commercial town "Senba" centered on Higashi Ward was actively busy.
It is a list of shops that were prosperous at that time. The shops listed here seem to have been predominant as pioneers among many shops at that time.

貴重な物を見ることができた。驚いたことは、当時から多種多様な商店の数が実に多いことにびっくり。その中でも、武田薬品工業、小野薬品、コニシボンドなどの薬品問屋さん、そして飲食分野では花外楼、駿河屋、鶴屋八幡、渋谷利兵衛商店などが挿絵で掲載されている。
この絵を見ると当時の商売の雰囲気がリアルに伝わってくる。写真にあるいくつかの商店は、いまも健在で一部上場企業として、また老舗店として現在でも隆盛を極める企業として存在している。

I was able to see valuable things. To my surprise, I was surprised at the large number of various shops since that time. Among them, drug wholesalers such as Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, Ono Pharmaceutical Company, Konishi Bond, and in the food and beverage field, Kagairo, Surugaya, Tsuruya-Hachiman, Shibuya Rihei Shoten, etc, are illustrated.
Looking at this picture, you can really feel the atmosphere of business at that time. Some of the shops in the photo are still alive and well, and some of them are listed companies, and they are still prosperous as long-established shops.
