A different long-established feeling that lives in the land of Kyoto!
Last year, when I was heading north on Kyoto Teramachi-dori to buy Japanese paper, I wanted to miss the timing of lunch and get hungry, but I saw the signboard of "Tokiwa Shokudo" that I used to go to when I was a student. A shop in the Teramachi shopping district in Kyoto that makes you feel the times. I was attracted to the nostalgia and pushed the door. The storefront and interior are old-fashioned. I felt that the tables and chairs, as well as the menu signboards hanging on the wall, were the same as they were at that time.
I ordered "Aji fried set meal". As you can see, it is full of volume. Although I'm hungry, it's a heavy load for me, but I was surprised to eat it and it was delicious! It is. And this is 750 yen.
Opened in 1891. A dining room that lasts 140 years. It doesn't feel like a long-established store, but it is also prosperous, firmly rooted in the local character of Kyoto.
After getting hungry, I stopped by the long-established tea shop "Ippodo". It may be the opposite of the Tokiwa Shokudo, but the store has a long-established feel of Kyoto inside and outside. It is a long-established tea shop that handles specialty teas.
Both make us feel the history. Although the atmosphere and image are different, it continues to protect the goodwill as a "long-established store".
