探幽筆、白衣観音図に魅せられる。 I am fascinated by the Tanyu brush and the Byakue Kannon Buddhist painting.

3月15日、御寺泉涌寺の本殿では、涅槃会法要が行われた。
それに併せ、参拝させていただいた。
午前10時から始まりお昼前まで本殿内で読経が続いた。

On March 15th, the Parinirvana Day memorial service was held at the main shrine of Sennyu-ji Temple.
At the same time, I worshiped.
The sutra chanting continued in the main shrine from 10 am until noon.

読経が響く中、本殿の裏に回り、堂裏の壁に画かれている
「白衣観音図(びゃくえかんのんず)」を鑑賞。
あまりの美しさに見上げたまま足が止まってしまった。
この白衣観音はどこから見ても、拝んでいる人の方をずっと向き、
必ず目が合うという不思議な観音様である。

While the sutra chanting echoes, it goes around the back of the main shrine and is painted on the wall behind the shrine.
Appreciate the "White Coat Kannon Buddhist painting".
I stopped looking up at the beauty.
No matter where you look at this Byakue Kannon, it always faces the worshiper, it is a mysterious Kannon that always makes eye contact.

この白衣観音図は、本殿の天井の「播龍図(ばんりゅうず)」を画いた、
江戸時代を代表する絵師・狩野探幽(かのうたんゆう)が画いたもの。
本殿が大造営されるときに併せ画いたものといわれている。
その観音図が寛文9年3月19日、泉涌寺に届いたということが記してあった。
(たまたま今日は3月19日、同じ日)

This Byakue Kannon Buddhist painting depicts the "Banryuzu" on the ceiling of the main shrine.
It was painted by Kano Tanyu, a painter who represents the Edo period. It is said that it was also painted when the main shrine was built.
It was written that the Kannon Buddhist painting arrived at Sennyu-ji Temple on March 19, Kanbun Period.
(It happened that today is March 19th, the same day)
