IOCバッハ会長の「犠牲」は、日本人でなく五輪関係者のこと、メディアは誤訳を直ちに訂正せよ！

IOCのバッハ会長が「犠牲が必要だ」と発言したと共同通信が報じたときに、日本人が犠牲を強いられるとしてメディアが、IOCのバッハ会長は上から目線だと拡声器になって伝え、さらにネットで拡散した。
　しかし、真意は異なる。犠牲を払うのはオリンピック関係者であり、日本人一般ではない。メディアはいまからでも訂正して報じなければいけないし、SNSの発信者であつても免責されることはなく訂正が求められる。

オリンピック関係者全てが犠牲を払う必要があります。この前例のない状況に対応するための犠牲です。

Dear Olympic friends,
 
With the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 now finally on the horizon, your Congress is taking place at a very timely moment in this truly extraordinary Olympic Year. Now the final countdown for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 has really begun. Your athletes are in their final days of preparation, looking forward with so much emotion and anticipation to enter the Olympic stage in Tokyo.
 
When the athletes of the National Olympic Committees from all across the globe and from the IOC Refugee Olympic Team finally come together, it will send a strong message, a strong message of solidarity, resilience and unity of all humankind in all our diversity. In this way, the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 are a light at the end of the dark tunnel that the world still finds itself in because of the global coronavirus crisis.
 
Our top priority was, is and remains organising safe and secure Olympic Games for everyone: the athletes and all participants, as well as our gracious hosts, the Japanese people. This is why, together with all our Japanese partners and friends, we have put in place comprehensive COVID-19 countermeasures to ensure that the athletes of the world can come together in a safe environment. On top of all that, we will greatly benefit from the many new and ongoing vaccination efforts. For example, over 70 per cent percent of the athletes and officials have already been vaccinated or will be vaccinated before the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This number will continue to grow as we approach the Games, with the many new and ongoing efforts. In this regard we have received offers from three different vaccine producers to vaccinate all Olympic participants. We can only encourage all of you to continue these efforts, to accept these offers, because vaccination is not only protecting yourself, your athletes, it is also a demonstration of respect and solidarity with our Japanese hosts.
 
Everyone in the Olympic community has to make sacrifices. Sacrifices to adapt to this unprecedented situation. All measures were taken to keep the focus on the essentials of Olympic Games: the sporting competitions, so that the athletes can make their Olympic dreams come true.
 
This is why my thanks and gratitude go to you, FIH and all your member federations, under the great leadership of President Batra, for your steadfast commitment to the success of these Olympic Games. 
 
In this and so many other ways, FIH is truly leading by example. Whether organising safe sport events, leading hockey into the digital age, promoting gender equality or adapting to the context of optimised Olympic Games, FIH has always shown creativity and flexibility.
 
With the FIH Pro League, involving teams from 4 continents, you have demonstrated that sports competitions can be organised safely, even under current restrictions. It is events like these that create confidence in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, because they are proof that international sports events can be organised while safeguarding the health of everyone.
 
This is why, at the IOC, we are so happy to have such reliable partners like FIH on our side. We have seen over the past weeks and months that whether in sport, or in the many challenges in life, we are always stronger together.
 
In this Olympic spirit, I wish you fruitful discussions and a successful Congress.
