昨日、音楽を聴きあさっていたらAretha Franklinが歌うLet It Beに行き着き、調べてみると元はJohn LennonとPaul McCartneyがファンであったAretha Franklinに書き下ろした曲なんだそう。
The Beatlesが歌うLet It Beとはまた違って、Aretha Franklinが歌うLet It Beは讃美歌のようにも聞こえるし、昔ハーレムで聴いたゴスペルを思い出すほどソウルミュージックにも聞こえる。
ずっと聞いていたら無性にこの歌詞を訳したくなって、私なりの言葉で訳させていただきました。
改めて、今日まで生き続ける彼らの偉大さを感じるし、国境を越えてThe Beatleasを魅了したAretha Franklinさんの歌声に感動が止まないです。
私が彼らより早く生まれていたら恐らく出会えていなかった曲の数々。今この時代に出逢える彼らの曲々に敬意を込めて𓂃₊❀
