今回は、alienationの意味を英英辞典で引くところろから始めてみましょう。

意味合い的にisolationはただ単に人と離れている状態でネガティブでもポジティブでもなく、alienationは望まない孤立というネガティブなイメージみたいです。

それでは本文いってみましょう。

以上がAlienationについての考察でした。

僕は、この作品を読んで、それほど孤立について思いを巡らせる（pounder）ことがなかったので、このように指摘されていることが意外でした。

なぜなら僕個人の視点では、それぞれの登場人物は孤立を求めているというよりも、適度な距離をもって人と関わることを求めているだけなのだと思っているからです。

それを"孤立"と換言されると、なんだか違和感を覚えるのです。

なぜなら孤立って”ネガティブ”な表現ですよね。

冒頭にalienationはネガティブな意味であると語意を確認しました。

ただ僕にはそれぞれの登場人物が”孤立”していると感じているとは到底思えないのです。

市営プールに空いている時間帯に行くことのどこが”孤立”なのでしょうか？

彼らは、世の中と適切な距離感を保って生きようとしているだけで、それが海外の読者には「孤立」しているように映り、僕には「独立した大人としての生き方」に見えるのです。

人に必要以上に依存せず、それでも別に「隠居」しているわけでもない。

そんな現代的でクールな生き方を表現している村上作品が、僕にとってはとても心地よいのです。

そして海外でも評価されているということは、この村上春樹的人間関係（適度な人との距離感）に共感している読者が相当数いるのではないか？と想像してみるのです。
