A piano recital.（ピアノの発表会）

I attended a piano class for only three years, from fourth to sixth grade. There was a person in my neighborhood who ran a piano class at her home, and it became common for all the kids living in the area to attend her class. So I started going to the piano class not because I paticularly wanted to play the piano, but because everyone else was doing it. However, when I actually attended the class, I found it quite fun and I was able to read music, so I think it was a good experience.

Then, the most memorable experience for me was the piano recital. It had become an annual event for all the students to gather at the teacher's house once a year for the recital. I remember that practicing the song for the recital was different from the usual etudes, and I practiced with a lot of enthusiasum.

I was reminded of this when I participated the event called ECD to speak English at "stand.fm", which was held for the first time on June 22nd last month. Before that, I had been doing all-English streams on "stand.fm" as a project called NYTEnglish, but the ECD stream was defineitely different. Usually my streams are about 2 minutes long, but that time I was really motiavted and did the abaout 5 minute stream. This was definitely the longest I've ever spoken English in my life.

I thought it was great to have an opportunity to speak English like a piano recital, so I will continue to enthusiastically participate ECD that is scheduled to be held on the 22nd of every month.

ピアノの発表会

私は小学４〜６年生の３年間だけですが、ピアノ教室に通っていました。近所に自宅でピアノ教室を開いている人がいて、その地域に住んでいる子供ははみんなそこに通うのが普通になっていました。なので私も、特にピアノがやりたかったというわけではなく、みんながやってるからという理由で通い始めました。でも、いざ実際に通ってみると、結構楽しかったし、楽譜も読めるようになったので良かったなと思います。

そしてその中でも一番思い出に残っているのは、ピアノの発表会です。年に１回、その先生の自宅に生徒全員が集まって、発表会をするのが恒例になっていました。やっぱり発表会のための曲の練習はいつもの練習曲と違って、一味も二味も気合が入ってよく練習したことを覚えています。

このことを思い出したのが、先月の６月２２日に初開催した、スタエフで英語を話すECDというイベントに参加した時でした。それまでも私はNYTEnglishという企画でスタエフの全英語配信をやっていましたが、ECDの時はやっぱり違いました。いつもは大体２分くらいの放送が多いのですが、その時は気合が入って５分くらいの放送をしました。これは間違いなく、人生で英語を話す最長記録でした。

このようにピアノの発表会のように英語を喋れる場があるのはとても良いと思ったので、これからも毎月22日に開催予定のECDは、気合いを入れて参加し続けようと思います。
