Write with the reins. （手綱を持って書く）

When watching the Olympic equestrian events, you see the rider holding the reins and controlling the horse with amazing skill. However, if you are not able to control your horse properly, you may go off course or even fall off.

Actually, this is something I pay attention to when writing in English. I try to write in simple English that I can understand properly. If I were to write in more difficult English than that, I would lose control of the sentense.

And right now, I can only hold the reins of a small, cute pony, but I hope to be able to hold the reins of a big, wild horse one day.

オリンピックの乗馬競技を見ていると、騎手の人が手綱を持って、馬を見事にコントロールしながら進んでいきます。でも、もし上手く馬をコントロールできなかったら、コースから外れてしまったり、落馬してしまうかもしれません。

実はこれ、私が英語の文章を書くときにも気をつけていることでもあります。自分がきちんと理解できる、簡単な英語で文章を書くようにしています。もしそれ以上に難しい英語で書いてしまったら、文章をコントロールできなくなってしまうでしょう。

そして、私は今は小さくてかわいいポニーの手綱しか持てませんが、いつか大きな暴れ馬の手綱を持てるようになりたいです。
