Avram Noam Chomsky is an American professor.
His main concept is transformational generative grammar.
The transformational generative model with the following features.

1. Phrase-structure rules generate a deep structure

2. One underlying structure is transformed by transformational rules relating it to another, producing a sentence;

3. A final surface structure is subject to phonological and morphemic rules.

Eugene Nida, an American translation scholar, incorporates the key features of his model into his translation research.
